We could even scale the knowledgable ability, giving the nobles "ancient knowledge" and 20 ranks, and the grand aboleth "eternal knowledge" and 30 ranks, or somesuch.

How about boosting CL to 12 higher than HD and ML to 8 higher than HD?

Cap it at 20?

IMHO, I think the Manifester Level should not have a cap. If you go with the SRD as a reference I would have CL = HD + 8 and ML = HD + 5. Considering the age vs. HD it is a very reasonable progression.

Let's go full telekinesis for the standard version, and pick some of the telekinetic powers for the psionic variant.

Is everyone OK with the "at will" enslavement?

At Will vs. the Dragon #131 12/day (enslavement times/day equal to HD). Depends on the flavor you would like to use.

As for the Psionic side, I would like to see it expand to multiple targets at once. Say for the Greater, 2 targets.

Psi/Spell-Like Ability uses per day

My Suggestions:

Body Equilibrium - 1/day
Read Thoughts - 3/day
Dimension Door - 1/day
Levitate - 3/day - Based on the spell/power, it does no look as if it could ever lift itself, or is weight ignored when you cast it on you?

Advancement of the Saltwater Aboleth needs to be corrected to reflect:

11-16 HD (Huge)

Fixed. Thanks!

Levitate - 3/day - Based on the spell/power, it does no look as if it could ever lift itself, or is weight ignored when you cast it on you?

It's a bit misleading...

"You or one willing creature or one object (total weight up to 100 lb./level)"

My take: the weight limit is just for the object, but I could be wrong.

I updated the psi-like abilities, but have a question.

The standard aboleth has a lower manifester level for a few of its powers (ego whip, id insinuation). Do we want to keep these the same level for the greater aboleth, bump them by the same ratio (6 lower than normal manifester level), or drop the lower manifester level altogether.
