Wood elf ranger 12 appeals.

I can live with that!

So how shall we arrange the ability scores?

Elite array presumably: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8

Base HD is 9HD plus 12 HD of class levels for 21 HD, so I reckon it should have 3 ability adds - at 12 HD, 16 HD and 20 HD.

+2 to the 15 and +1 to the 13?

Makes the array 17, 14, 14, 12, 10, 8

I propose putting the 17 in Constitution, the 14s in Strength and Dexterity, the 12 in Intelligence, the 10 in Charisma and the 8 in Wisdom. (I made Wisdom the "dump stat" just to be different).

Add the Wood Elf racial adjustments of +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, +2 Strength, -2 Intelligence plus the template's +2 to Wisdom and we get.

Sabrelord (Wood Elf Form): Str 16, Dex 16, Con 15, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 10
Sabrelord (Wereforms): Str 30, Dex 20, Con 21, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 10

Is that OK?

Good thing rangers don't get cantrips, eh. :p

What about weapon selection.

Shall we be conventional and go for longsword and composite longbow?

I'm fine with that, although a pair of sickles seems apt! Too bad sabers aren't OGL.

How about going the two-handed weapon route with a longsword and shortsword?

Or we could switch it around a bit:

Battleaxe and shortsword.

Paired battleaxes?

Come to think of it, would paired battleaxes (or paired longswords) be light weapons when the Sabrelord's in hybrid form...
