Specialist Wizards

Could you kids list any house rules you might have regarding Specialist Wizards? I'm thinking they might be a little watered down.

I don't see any need to increase the power of specialist wizards... an extra spell slot per level is already a pretty good benefit. IMO, specialist wizards are balanced as they are.
However, if I did decide to increase their power, I would probably increase the DC of spells of the school the specialize in by 1.

I agree. As a DM, I try to give them access to uncommon spells of their specialty, and they must take one spell from their school upon levelling.

The +1 spell per level may be quite useful at low levels, but as the intelligence rises, this benefit is almost completely erased. I would recommend using some other speciality rules or give them the aforementioned +1 spell-power bonus.

I am actually playing an abjurer wizard (in one campaign in which I'm playing) now, barred from the enchantment school, and I think it's perfectly alright, even though we don't have any house rules on this matter. Besides, being a specialist should open for some quite interesting PrCs that normal wizards cannot take.

Maybe allow specialist wizards to use their bonus feats to aquire feats that go with their speciality (spell focus and that sort of thing.)

Intresting, anything in more depth?
