Speilberg looking to do Tripods

I read a lot of John Christopher back in intermediate school (grade 7-8). Could be cool. Did you see the TV miniseries that was made back in the 80s(?)?

That BBC miniseries scared the life out of me when I was little. And I loved the books. Wonder if he's going to do all three books in one film, or split them up or what?

A trilogy would be neat -- kind of hard to do it as one movie, unless it's really long. But if they did it that way, I'd have a hard time seeing it being successful. It's been a long time, but as I remember there isn't that much that really happens in The White Mountains; I seem to remember much more action in The City of Gold and Lead and Pool of Fire.

But then, it's been 20+ years, so my memory is pretty fuzzy (I'm shocked I still remember the titles!).

I loved the books and the miniseries. (Hmm, gotta get over to that "TV on DVD" thread...)

This would be cool. Beanpole!

EDIT: Ugh. Disney.
