Green Ronin released a preview from their new Advanced Player's Manual of this class - Spellmaster.

My first impression is I love it. This class fits much more succiently my conception of magic than the blocky core system. The magic they can cast is very flexible and logical. The spellmaster has excellent access to a variety of different types of spells which he doesn't have to commit to ahead of time but pays severely for this with a lack of casting speed. If i understand the system correctly it takes a minimum of 3 rounds to cast a spell unless the spell is currently being held. 1st round to sense magic, 2nd round (maybe several) to build power, and 3rd round to cast.
Although the class is set up to coexist with normal spellcasters I could see this class being the default spellcasting class for a setting with the wizard class being a kind of strange, ritualistic specialist.
I wonder at the balance issues of having a chance to cast higher level spells.
Any thoughts?
