D&D General Spells varying in level depending on class

Are you asking a question? I'll assume it's "how do you feel about..."

As a way of differing spellcasters, I'm not opposed to spells at different levels for different classes, but there are more appealing ways to go. Class specific spells is my favorite. Paladins having exclusive access to Summon Mount, for example, is perfect. Making specific iconic spells class features instead of actual spells is even better, as we are seeing with the 2024 playtest material.
 

I hated so much back in the day where the bard got spells months after they stopped being viable to the campaign.

The upcast mechanic makes it less necessary to punish half casters for not picking the classes that matter.
