[Spycraft/S9] A Simple Heist

[ooc: I'll throw AD at it in the hopes of sending it away ;). On another note, I like the UMP series, they just look kewl. Then again everything HK makes looks kewl.]

Raven grunts and reels as he's caught in a burst of fire. His next move, should he remain standing, will be to take cover and return fire. Otherwise if knocked over he'll try to scramble behind a desk and kick it over for cover.

((Raven burns one action die (d4) for a 3. This will take the Fort Save from 15 to 18. Not quite enough, so Raven burns another action die... 4+4+3 (the die exploded twice), making the total 29. Raven spends 2 AD to remain standing))

The Fates smile upon Raven as he remains on his feet... it was just a glancing blow, after all. Not willing to get caught in another burst of bullets while out in the open, Raven hustles over to a nearby desk, returning fire before taking cover.

The man reels from the combined gunfire and is taken down by Gheist's well-aimed shot to the head.

"Man down! Man down! Two tangos in the security centre! Abort Primary Infiltration plan. Switch to Smash and Grab!" The second intruder yells into the mouthpiece of his tactical headset. The second hostile fires off an ineffective, panicked burst in Gheist direction before pulling back, disappearing into the barracks.

((Round 3.
Raven's Attack Roll vs DEF 14: 17= 9+3:BAB+3:Dex+2:Circumstance(Laser Sight). Damage 1d8+2: 4=2+2

Gheist's Attack Roll vs DEF 14: 19=19+3:BAB+3:Dex+2:Gear(LaserSight). A threat! The intruder is taking quite a beating and is on his way down, so I'm taking the liberty of assuming that Gheist won't waste an AD at this point. Damage d12: 8.))

Intruder B: Wide Burst (Half-Action). Standard Move (Half-Action)to retreat into the barracks. Gheist's Defense: 10+3:Fixer+1:MartialArtist+3:Dex+7 Cover
Intruder B's Attack Roll vs DEF 24: 8=3+3-1:Acc+1:Wide_Burst+2:Bracing.
Half-Action ))

Raven holsters the P229 and hurries back over to the security mainframe.

"Our time is severely limited," he says and takes out his electronics equipment.

Raven quickly goes about ruining the system. He tries to cut the system's connection to the outside before disabling the cameras, activating alarms in the north complex and trying to maim the system as a whole.

[ooc: Electronics +8, Raven will spend an action dice on any particurlarly check.]

Gheist turns off the whisperlock of his SOCOM and makes a move to the light switch. "Lights out!" he calls to Raven as he flicks the switch and activates his night-vision goggles. "See if you can cut the main power to the rest of the museum. I think we've just run out of time." He turns and fires into the barracks, shooting at the second intruder if he can see him, otherwise just making him keep his head down.

((I assume Gheist is staying well away from the barracks door. Correct me if I'm wrong.))

Gheist fires a couple of shots into the barracks. The intruder does not return fire and remains hidden in the barracks.

With the lights out it makes it a little more difficult for Raven to do his handy work but this doesn't faze the gear monkey.

On one of the video monitors, you see a team of four people in stealth and combat gear trot up to Southern Service Entrace #12, located near the South Eurasian Gallery. Two of the figures fish for some tools in their backpacks and huddle around the lock and keypad. The other two keep their H&K submachine guns ready, looking out for any hostiles.

((Raven's Electronics Check vs DC 22: 27=19+8 +2:Ranks+4:Int+2:Feat(Gear Monkey). Threat!. Severing the security system's links to the outside world will take 2d4 rounds. You may spend an action die to halve that time.))

EDIT: Service Entrance #12 is in the South Building not in the Northern Complex.

((Time (2d4)=2 rounds. Raven spends an action die to halve the time to 1 round. It takes Raven 6 seconds to sever the external connections.

Check the Action Dice Log for your current AD totals.

Raven's 2nd Electronics Check vs DC 22: 25=17+8 +2:Ranks+4:Int+2:Feat(Gear Monkey). It takes Raven 30 seconds to crash the security system.))

Raven, armed with his electronics toolkit, wreaks havoc on the security console's hardware in just 36 seconds.

Through the video screens, you see distracting and annoying alarms flash all over the northern complex, startling the guard and dog patrolling the area.

You hear the urgent whooping of the alarm in the background as the northern patrol checks in. "Talk to me, Gribble. What in damnation is going on? "

A second transmission comes through the comm system. "Central, This is unit two. Better call in tech support. The laser tripwires are going haywire."

At the end of the 36 seconds of work Raven blows on the end of his trusty leatherman as though it were a smoking gun, then spins it on his fingers and returns it to the pouch on his belt. He stuffs any other gear he used into his backpack and hurries over to take the fallen competitors UMP.

Raven offers it to Gheist and if he doesn't want it will grin and check the clip.

"Box first, then mask?" he asks quietly, "Or box and mask simultaneously?"

((I assume Gheist is staying well away from the barracks door. Correct me if I'm wrong.))

(ooc: You got THAT right! Did the intruders appear to have NVG's?)

"Good job, Raven!" Gheist responds, as all hell cuts loose with the security systems. He accepts the proffered UMP and checks the clip and safety. "I got a feelin' that we should hit the primary first. Just a hunch that these guys may be after it too. Now let's beat feet to the target."

Gheist will exit the room and wait for Raven, covering the door to the barracks until Raven is out. After Raven passes him, he will close and attempt to jam the door with a piton from his climbing kit.

V

After Gheist jams the command center door with the piton, the two Section 9 operatives race through the service tunnels and up the emergency stairs and into the South Building of the Liongsgate Metropolitan Museum.

Just as Raven and Gheist are about to turn into the hall leading into the South Eurasian Gallery, they witness a massacre. Two men in black armed with submachine guns mow down the
museum security unit patrolling the southern building. Gouts of canine and man blood mingle in a dark pool of between the security guard and the dog.

Mute sentries, life-size mannequins equipped with arms and armor from across the centuries, line the walls of the hall. Two rows of 5 foot wide columns run down the length of the 30 foot wide hall.

Further down the hall are four members of the smash and grab team (presumably the same ones you saw on the security cam feeds). Two men in black head north into the Ancient Civilizations of South America. The two other intruders jog towards the South Eurasian Gallery.

((OOC:
The green dots are agents and friendlies.
The yellow dots are neutral NPCs, bystanders, etc. In this cas the yellow dots are the security guard and dog.

The red dots are enemy agents and other hostile NPCs.
The men in black with submachine guns are not wearing night vision goggles.

The green triangle is the package.))
