Spyware detection software

I use Spybot, a good looking and fairly robust spyware detector and remover. For tougher stains, try HijackThis. Not for rookies, but very powerful. If you're not familiar with, or comfortable making changes to, the Windows regsitry, HijackThis is still good for getting info. I'm sure there are plenty of folks on these boards or otherwise who can help with the results.

I used to only use ad-aware but I now use it with spybot, as spybot has caught quite a number of things that the most-recently-updated version of ad-ware 6 missed.

Good grief, does everyone use both of these? :D

I know I do, it was just interesting to see how many other people used both as well.

Yea I use both too, run them both about once a week, pick up five to ten tracking cookies/spyware a week (the first time I ran them I got 60 with one and nearly 200 with the other). They tend to find different things so I regularly run them both.
