Star Wars – The Clone Wars: Kaminoan Incident

The Wookie hairball comment made the kushiban female giggle, it reminded her of her master, Master Sirrie, the female Wookie that had trained her in the art of the saber. The Master and pupil could not be more dis-similair then the Kushiban and the Wookie. All of the tiny female's thoughts faded as her sparing partner showed her readyness.

Her fur changed briefly to a muted pink at her best friends antics, but it swiftly reverted to its normal white. Jaq'lene twirled her small saber swiftly through her fingers, her best feature as a swords-bunny was her speed, she lacked the strength of her master, but she more then made up for it in her precission and speed. In less then a second her sabers deceptively easy twirling was replaced by its thrusting point stabbing in at Rei.

Even before it was fully extended the saber was retracting back as the small Kushiban tumbled to her left in a one handed cart-wheel, her blade slasing around her in a glowing blue circle as she went. Even before the other woman could bring her blade around again the Kushiban had her smaller blade interposed between their bodies. The tumbling was the key to her style, as precise as her attacks were, it was the Kushiban's strongly defensive style that made her such a dangerous opponent.

The duel lasted long and rode both combatants extremely hard. A display of precise attacks and elegant footwork within a mix of dizzying speed, it took both weapon masters all over the gym as one blade slashed into another only to be blocked and the ritual begun again.

Rei exhilarated in the flow of the Force through her, creating an extension of herself in the lightsaber dancing in her hand. At no time did she feel closer to the Force than when she wielded her blades whether in battle or in practice. Something about the dance of the katas resonated within her.

After a long while, the hum of the sabers slowed down until both fighters deignited their weapons, both exhausted, both bowing low to each other to end the duel.

Yanking at her sweat-soaked shirt plastered onto her, Rei hung her saber back onto her belt while smiling at Jaq'lene and the others. "Well, I think I really need a shower now and I'm going to sore for days," she joked with a laugh as she sat down heavily onto the floor. Her fingers brushed the dark strands of hair out of her eyes.

"Toss me a towel someone?"

Kyle offers a towel to Jaq'lene and tosses one to Rei. "A very impressive display of skill from both of you," Kyle comments. "Rei, one day I am sure you will be one the most prominent saber instructors the Jedi have ever had."

Jaq'lene declined the offered towel as she re-attached her saber to her collar and let it hang along her back, its fur lining made it blend in with her fur extremely well. To dry herself the diminuitive female simply shook herself, it started at her nose and moved down her body in a wave until at the very last t was just the tip of her bushy tail wiggling all by itself.

"You did good Rei." the Kushiban complimented her partner, her white fur picking up golden highlights to show her contentment with the duel. slowly on all four legs she picked her way across the floor towards her friend. The smoothness and absolute grace of the movement was enough to remind the others that she had muscles in places no human could. Finally having found a good spot the Kushiban curled up using her tail as a pillow so that she could continue to watch the others with her large luminous eyes.

"what is next for us do you think?" she wondered aloud, as always her curiosity getting the better of her. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it wouldn't kill the Kushiban, at least not the weaponmaster Kushiban.

In a rush Dyr Nibb, Sullustan Jedi and gifted healer came to Gym where his friends where practicing. Nearly breathless, none-the-less words poured from his mouth communicating his excitement.

"Hey, you all have got to come see this." Dyr pauses a moment as his friends gather around him to catch his breath. "Master Kor just got back from the Inner Rim. He brought back the most remarkable creature! It's a predator from Myrkr, Master Kor thinks it uses the force to track its prey. At least it gets very grumpy when a Jedi gets near it."

"Oh, I almost for got, Master Yoda and Master Windu are looking for us, they said something about giving us our new assignments." Dyr shrugs, as he's evidently much more excited about Master Kor biological specimen.

Tal calmly looks over from his conversation with Zak to watch Dyr storm into the room. He listens to the Jedi's excited oration but only takes interest in the final part.

"Master Yoda and Master Windu?" He looks around at each face in the group and back, "We should not keep them waiting then. Or do the weapon masters wish time to freshen up? Some of us certainly seem to stink worse than others."

"We don't want to keep them waiting, that we dont." the kushiban chittered her agreement with Tal's sentiment, if the two greatest master's on the council wished to see the newest jedi knights, then something was going on, something interesting. The gold highlights in her fur shifted to lilac, one of her most common color patterns of all for her, curiosity.

"All is well with me Tal, I'm sure they will understand." she said smiling up at Rei. Gingerly she stod unwrapping her tail from herself, considering whom she should get to carry her, Rei was tired, but the Jedi temple was much too big for her to get around in on her tiny legs. Making her decision she ran up Tal's leg and up over his arm to end on the man's shoulder hunkering herself down for the ride.

"Master Yoda and Master Windu..." Kyle mutters softly. "And I look like I just wrestled a gundark."
"I agree," he states to his comrades. "We should not keep the Masters waiting on us. Dyr, I think your critter is going to have to wait for now."
Kyle looks down at his attire, baggy work-out pants and a torn-up shirt, all covered in sweat. To no one in particular he asks, "Do you think I have time to at least grab a tunic from my room?"
"Uh, Rei? Do you want me to grab you a cloak or anything?" Kyle tires to ask casually.

Tal briefly considers trying to resist the kushiban, flinching ever so slightly as she darts up his leg. Be at peace, Tal Jinn, she is not your enemy. You are home....be at peace. He is tempted to try to pet her but knows she is not a beast to be petted and might take offense. Still, he could use the comfort.

"Find your own way, you must, " Master Yoda had said quietly. Tal could hear the pity in the ancient Jedi's voice and see it in those deep green eyes, "Long the road will be. Always the Force will be with you. Always the Force will be with you."

Ultimately, he takes a steadying breath and looks serenly at the others for someone who will take the lead.

Rei caught the towel, rubbing her skin free of the sweat, though her hair was a complete lost cause. In the midst of the drying, she noticed the Sullstean run in and listens as he spoke, slightly amused at his excitement.

Over some specimens? He was always the weird one she concurred silently to herself and then grinned at Jaq'lene perched on Tal's shoulder.

"Hey! I'm just as tired," she joked. "How come I don't get a ride?"

Though at Kyle's question, she glanced down at her sweat-soaked shirt. "What's wrong? Am I too grungy for the great and all powerfuls?" she answered with half a grin at the other Jedi as she shoved herself up off the floor.
