Star Wars – The Clone Wars: Kaminoan Incident

"I'm betting the doctor is still there, they just haven't really looked for him," Zak said distractedly from where he leaned on the passageway back to the cockpit. He listened to the others comment only partially because he was also listening to the ship, learning its vibrations.

"Well - after all that time, I doubt much forensic evidence is left," Rei spoke up from where she was busy doing a few excercises to limber herself up. "So I guess alot of spying and asking impertinent questions is in order. Who wants to tackle who? We've got family, friends, bosses, enemies, and basically a wide range of 'the usual suspects'."

She jerked a thumb at herself. "Count me in for stealth or intimidation, me being so frightening and all."

"Theirs is some more information here, a profile on Doctor Chu. It seems he was their expert on clone growth acceleration, invented most of the procedures himself. He was single with no family or ties to Kamino. He also had a bit of a gambling debt, but nothing substantial. There?s a list of Doctor Chu?s frequent haunts, seems he spent most of him time in the lab or library, but he also often when to a Gambling Den in the lower levels of the city called the Rusty Pipe, Maybe we should start there?" Dyr looks at the others for their opinions. "That sound like a lead, right?"

"Yes it does Dyr."
Kyle looked over his friends and embraced their enthusiasm. These were capable Jedi and warriors, but they ahd spent little time in places such as spacer bars and gambling dens.
"Perhaps we should all go to the Rusty Pipe. We do not have to appear as one large group, but maybe we should all be there to help watch each others backs."

Jaq'lene's fur shifts as she listens to the new information on the Kaminoan scientist. It gains her most common color, Lilac, for her curiosity about such places as a gambling dens, but it also gains a silver sheen of anticipation. She couldn't wait till they arrived in a new place for her to learn the scents and sights of, she was also looking forward to a true test of their clan's ability to work together. If they were good enough they might be able to stay together longer.

"I agree, we should help each other there and all go. If we are going in smaller groups though, maybe me and Rei together? We look the least threatening. Then Maybe Kyle and Tal, and then Zak and Dyr? What does everyone think?" the Kushiban girl asked the others curiously. She was the youngest of all of them by far only 13, but that was an adult by Kushiban standards, so the council had to be satisfied with the shorter length of training.

Tal pipes up from his seated position in a corner, "That all sounds good to me. Who's doing the asking around then? Such a thing was once my forte but I'm a bit...rusty. Still, I would feel better knowing all of you were nearby."

Zak nodded his head, though if it was in agreement for the plan to check out the Rusty Pipe or for something someone said previously, no one was really sure.

"Yep, you don't look very intimidating, Rei, course neither does a simple Duros pilot, "Zak finally said in his deep earthy voice.

"Well then, off the Rusty Pipe it is for me," Rei spoke up, straightening and pushing back a lock of her black hair. "Anybody want to come with me? Besides my faithful and cuddly 'pet' that is." She winked at her fellow Jedi Kushiban, patting her shoulder for Jaq to land on.

Jaq'lene was quick to accept the offered perch, it was better then wearing a leash and having to walk it, much better. The kuxhiban femal scrambled up the weapon-master's back lightly, leaving a light tickiling sensation wherever her tiny toes and hands touched. From her perch she looked to all of her companions, wondering who else would be going with her and Rei, they could almost certainly handle any trouble that came up, but they didn't look it, and that is what was needed. If Tal, or one of the bigger males was there Rei probably wouldn't have to kill some poor slob because he copped a feel.

The young Jedi continue there discussions off and on for the next couple of days during the rather uneventful trip. Once they jump back into normal space the blue and white marble of Kamino greets them from outside the viewport of Falcon.

As they draw closer to the planet their eyes are drawn to the Republic Dreadnought in orbit of planet. Several starfighter pairs swoop up and surround the Falcon. One of the pilots voices barks over the comm. "Unidentified freighter, you have entered a protected system. Identify yourselves and purpose."
