Hell I say why not at this point, just as long as the undo Luke's horrible screen. And oh yeah, whoever that green guy was that shot at Han.

I don't mind it...hmm, you know, if they DO change the Han/Greedo thing, they may keep it as quiet as they can until right around the release of the set. I don't care though, I'm buying it anyway. :)

I don't either. Yes its ridiculous not to release the original versions alongside the new ones, but if you're gonna do a special edition, I say go all the way. Fix *all* the old FX shots, update all the space ship effects, improve the Rancor, redo the bad matte paintings in Return of the Jedi, etc. Just don't change any of the dialogue.

...and keep the flow of the films the same.

These are DVDS, they could release the orginal in the same set as the new ones and it wouldn't take up that much room, and people would buy it.

Personally, I'm hoping they add in a Gungan character throughout all threre episodes. :D

The only thing that really bugged me about the special editions was the Greedo shooting first bit. If he changes that back, all is forgiven.

Improving the special effects is okay (though I like non-perfect special effects - I'd hate to see all the claymation movies updated), but changing scenes is bad.

I don't mind them redoing effect or matte shots to make them look better. But besides Greedo shooting first, my other main beef with the SE was they changed some of the dialiogue. if they change Greedo back, it will be a step in right direction.

I feel the same way as Jeremy.

As far as including the originals, I would have to disagree - I do want to see the originals on DVD, but I don't think that putting them on the same discs is necessarily a good idea.

Take Lawrence of Arabia. The Star Wars films are not as long as that film, but data is data. I bought the Superbit Lawrence of Arabia because I wanted the best image quality available - the one-disc LoA reportedly has a noticeably less-good image. Putting both the updated and original Star Wars on the same discs would probably force them to use lossier compression, which would mean lower image quality for the films.

Well, I think it's all moot anyway. Lucas has said numerous times he will never release the originals again. And I sincerely doubt the Han/Greedo thing will be reverted to the original.

Until it is, I refuse to spend my money on the damn thing.
