OK, so the opening scene has great effects.

But will the movie suck like the other 2?

I can't put my disappointment into words over the last 2 films.

(sorry for hijacking your thread. It's just that a friend and I where talking about this the other day so the angst is still fresh on my mind)

I hope it doesn't suck too, but that synaposis sounded really really good. And now talk coming from the movie indicates that the beginning of the movie is falling in line with the story the synapsis indicated. I have my fingers crossed

Come on now, I actually thought Jar-Jar was the best actor in Episode II, at least he didn't make me cringe as much as most of the others!

Considering Jar Jar gets 5 minutes of screen time in a 2 1/2 hour long movie, I'm not sure what anyone's point is to bash his appearance in Ep II other than that his face appeared on the screen at all. :) I can certainly stand him for 5 minutes. :)

Same here, though I'd really prefer those 5 minutes to be an ultra slow motion sequence where he finally gets wasted by blaster fire. Or a lightsaber. Or whatever, as long as it's slow and painful.

Unfortunately, I believe Lucas has said Jar-Jar won't be killed. Pity.

Sounds cool! Although I, like most of us around here, was disappointed in the most recent two Star Wars movies, I don't hate them bitterly like many. I'm also apparently eternally an optimist in regards to Star Wars; I keep expecting that the next one will finally be good... ;)

I don't have the same hatred of Jar Jar as many. He was a bit annoying, but to me Annakin, his lousy dialogue and the poor pacing and planning of the screenplay were far worse than Jar Jar Binks.

Although I do think it'd be funny to see Jar Jar in a little spaceship getting inexorably pulled into the sun. "Uh oh, meesa gonna be crispy!"
