Be a neutral - too many stinkin' rebels as it is. And the Imperials - geez, can't swing a dead gungan without hitting six of them.

And I have noticed the combination of Entertainer/Deadly Freakin' Ninja of Doom in the game, as well. One of my medic's addicts . .. i mean, patients . . . is a Twilek. Her reasoning "None of us want to go unprepared into the Rancor pit once we get to Jabba's palace."

Most early scout skills come from building traps, field dressing animals, and building camps for others. While it is much easier to work with more martial characters (skinning their kills or just setting up campsites near hunting grounds), you don't have to take Marksman as a scout if you're willing to tough it out.

One piece of advice on taking missions. Be very careful about taking high paying fetch and delivery missions. Even by hopping on a shuttle you may end up traveling a very long distance on foot.

Plus, there are some pretty nasty critters out in the boonies and even with a trusty blaster (which you can fire while on the run) it does not always save your butt. Thanks god for clones and item insurance.

I cannot wait for the expansion with mounts and vehicles. It will make these missions a lot faster.

If you plan to play at the same time you will need two copies. If you plan on sharing the account you will not be able to play on the same server or at the same time. I have not tried but as I understand it you are limited to one character per server. I have heard people gripe about this.

Like NWN before it, I can't see myself getting much enjoyment out of this using a 56k modem. I hate my phone company!

OK, I've got the game. Prospecting for minerals sounds interesting, so I was thinking along the lines of scout with some of the artisan skills. Is there enough diversity, usefulness, and degrees of rarity that it's actually a fun pasttime looking for "sweet spots" to mine?

At one time there was a miner elite profession. Guess that didn't make it to gold. Also recall there being a farmer, although that may just have been spiced up with the title "Bio-Engineer".

Anyway, I'm gonna grab some sleep and load it up in the morning.
