Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic

* Aargh, why must it be a droid? *

Well aware that most of his trained skills won't be of use against the robotic sphere, Yun ignites his lightsaber and assumes the traditional guard stance of his chosen form.

While maneuvering into a more advantageous position, he does his best to not get into the way of his two companions who, as he has learned in the past year, well surpass him in the way of lightsaber combat.

[OoC: Yun uses Combat expertise to get +3 to defense (and -3 to attack) while he moves out from behind the two other to strike the droid.]

Joran leaps into the attack with his ignited saber. The eager Jedi strikes the droid in a vulnerable spot (d20=20+7,crit threat;d20=1+7=8. damage=10). The droid begins to list to one side, chirping loudly in a series of deep and high beeps.

Yun manuevers into a better position, striking a defensive posture with his weapon.

The droid does not move; instead the tones it emits begins to slow. Then with a shudder, the sphere erupts in a blazing white explosion, like a grenade. As the sphere destructs, bits of shrapnel fly out from its ruined body.

The Jedi instictively move to avoid the collateral damage from the explosion, but a few errant pieces of metal strike the padawans.
(Ref saves Joran 16, Brasa 17, Yun 20 dam halved, 2 points VP damage each).

The smoldering hulk of the sphere falls to the corridors floor. From the entry hall, C8-22 cries out. "Pardon me sirs, is it safe?"

Joran stands up and brushes himself off, coughing a bit. He keeps his lightsaber in hand, but unignited. He looks at his companions to see if they are all right.

"That is why I don't trust droids. Yeah, you can come in here, C8."

When the droid walks in, Joran walks up to it and points at it accusingly with his lightsaber. He starts yelling at it.

"You deliberately led us into this trap, didn't you? Well, let me tell you, it takes a whole lot more than one tiny droid to take care of a Jedi. I want some answers right now! You better not hold anything back or I'll make you wish you were shoveling bantha poodoo on some backwater planet!"

C8-22 raises it arms and shakes its head. "Oh no sir! I was quite ignorant that violence would erupt.I am relieved that you subdued that thing! None of our guests possessed such a droid to my knowledge. In fact no one has left or entered the hotel for six hours. According to my memory which is quite accurate, the last person to leave was Mr. Vao. I am in fact at a loss how it got in here."

The droid blinks its eyes anxiously and steps to the other two Jedi, away from Joran and his saber. "The Palace only consists of two floors- this one and the suite level above. Because our clientel is, is ...colorful and often wish privacy, the hidden exit which you passed through is the only way in or out."

"Please sir, the management of Allod's Palace have a strict policy against attacking their customers, I assure you."

Joran gives the droid an icy glare. He steps back up to it and uses his height to loom over it.

"Well, you better cooperate with us if you don't want the Jedi Council shutting this hotel down and turning you into a scrap heap. You said Griff Vao left six hours ago. Where did he go?"

While returnning the lightsaber to his belt, Yun quickly 'scans' the room for anything unusual.

...

Brushing the remains of the droid off his robes, he collects himself and prepares to enter the conversation quick-tempered Joran has already jumped into.

* (Sigh!) His sense of moderation is seriously lacking indeed. *

"Do not worry, C8-22. My companion merely meant to underline his concern at this unprovoked attack which surely wasn't aimed at us specifically.
Still, the valid question remains how this droid entered the 'Palace' and why."

Adressing his fellow Jedi, Yun turns around:

"Do you know anything about this type of droid?" "Unfortunately," he adds with a shrug, "we didn't have much in the way of droids on Kiffu, so my own knowledge is quite limited."

(OOC)From the hallway, you cannot make out anything the dark room. The rooms lights are still out.

(OOC Darth Ecks beginning post)

The young Iktochi sat in the cockpit of the small training speeder as it sat on the surface of the Coruscant test grounds. For a week the young padawan had been on detached duty, taking pilot lessons. But Arcos's mind was not on the instructors words coming through his earpiece. It was elsewhere, locked in a premonition.

The waking vision was the same one that had plagued his dreams the past few days. A dark figure, emerging from the shadows, attacking his fellow Jedi-Yun, Joran and Brasa. Despite their efforts they could not overcome this dark figure. And as always, another figure- darker, larger loomed in the background. And Arcos was not there.

Arcos slowly focused back to the present, full of foreboding. The instructor continued on in his earpiece, and the Iktochi paused to feel for his comm link in his robes. He had been proud to be a Jedi and to be selected for pilot training. And though he had been the latecomer to the group of four under Master Vandar, the others were his comrades.

Arcos had no wish to shame himself or his teacher with misbehavior. His duty for now was here, or so it seemed. But he could easily call Brasa or Yun and find out where they were.

Perhaps he could help..if it wasnt too late....

Arcos reaches into his robes and pulls out his commlink, somewhat nervously. He decides to call Brasa on his commlink to make sure he is ok.

"Brasa, are you there?"

As Arcos waits for a reply he continues with his training.

I hope they are still alright.

Joran doesn't remove his eyes off of C8.

"I know enough to know that we had one droid attack us and one that doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Now, are you going to tell us where Griff went or not, droid?"
