Star Wars Saga/D&D 5th Hybrid [OOC/Rolls]

Quick question on the combat utility of Mind Trick. I see how the Fear works, but I'm curious about Suggestion. Can that work against someone you're currently fighting? Or are they too primed against that sort of mental influence?

I can see how it would be a different thing to suggest a stormtrooper drop his weapon before the shooting starts, compared to afterwards. ;)

With someone you are in combat with the only real thing you can do is that your next attack action against that target is at Advantage. So if you wanted to use Mind Trick on the sergeant this round and succeeded, next round your attacks (whatever they are and against whatever defense) would be at Advantage. Its not super useful in combat as it is sort of just a minor distraction, etc. Combine with Action Surge or something similar OR if you want one of your bodies to do something they could maybe attack at Advantage also...

So in this situation if your wanted to risk it, you could Mind Trick the sergeant and step back out of melee with him. He would get an OA attack against you, but it would only be a unarmed strike. Then you could tell Reks to throw his lightsaber(s) at the guy and Reks would have advantage with his attack action that round. Or next round you could use Force Slam against him with Advantage against his Fort defense.

So you could impose Disadvantage on his attacks BUT he is already at disadvantage attacking you as he is trying to shot you in melee (unless you were moving away then yes the rest of this round all of his attacks would be at disadvantage)

Bummer about mind trick. Going off the description in the rules thread, it didn't seem like there were limitations. Oh well, so much for that clever idea.

Okay. I'm gonna Force Slam. I have +10 to that roll, which is way better than my lightsaber attack, and his Fort Defense is no better than his Reflex. Plus, if I spend a Force Point to boost it, I'm rolling 6d6 damage...which could potentially put him down. Even on half damage it MIGHT, with a fantastic roll.

Also thinking I'll move around to the other side of him, so if he gets blasted back by the Slam, he'll fly out of the tunnel into the open where the rest of y'all can murderlize him.
