What's the compatibility like with the Revised Edition SW sourcebooks? I own almost every one of those.

Mechanically, the compatibility is low. They may serve as good inspiration of general things like classes and levels but the mechanics are substantially different.

Not all that high, especially regarding stat blocks, since classes, skills, and feats have been totally revamped.

Doing the conversion work shouldn't be too difficult or time-consuming though, since SECR is much quicker on character creation.

Unlike converting SWD6 stats over to SWd20, in which case it was often easier to just rebuild from scratch. RCR to SECR should be a lot easier since they both use the same basic rule kit.

According to UPS, I'm gettin' my book today.

Aw, yeah! :)

Now the pain is going to be not being able to run or play it for a while yet... We're in the middle of two D&D campaigns, and both are getting good.

There have been reports (with proof) that some people have already recieved copies of Saga Edition. I know of one person who got his from a bookstore 4 days ago.

The book is a 9 inch square.

I haven't been this stoked for a game to come out since 3E.

You know, I've been thinking the same thing. I've already got like 4 campaigns planned out. And by that I mean "in the idea stage". :)

Just curious, but where did you order from? Most online retailers I've looked at aren't shipping it out until the 5th.

Well, I don't have my physical copy yet, so I am officially jealous of you that do.

On the other hand, its nice to be able to talk about the book a bit more now. I'd bet Rodney will post a thought or two here as well, once he's covered from Celebration IV.

For those of you who don't know yet, it's been officially announced that Wizards will be releasing Galaxy Tiles in November, a new Starships of the Galaxy in December (written by Rodney, Gary Astleford and your truly), and next year a GM screen and the Force Unleashed Campaign Guide. Also, later this year the Dawn of Defiance, a 10-adventure campaign designed to take you from 1st to 20th level (and that's going to be free off the website).

So, lots of SW goodness coming down the pipe.
