So doing a little reverse engineering and checking with the playtest, Hill Dwarves get +1 Con and +1 Str. Taking away those bonuses gives the array of 16/14/13/12/10/8. Which means that Human's cannot get +1 to all stats because of the lack of a 17. Which means...they get +1 to 5? That seems odd

Things have changed since the Beta packet a little bit :)

A +1 to a stat is a lot different than a +2 to a stat. It is close but does not make them on par with a race with a +2 to a stat.

So the Human can be almost as agile or as smart an Elf, or almost as hardy as a Dwarf or almost as Strong and Charismatic as a Dragonborn but they aren't just quite equal but close to them.
Until the latest playtest package, non-humans didn't get +2 to a stat. If that's how things are now, I'll be certainly more accepting towards humans getting +1 to all stats. In this way humans would be well rounded, while the other races can excel in a single stat.

Changes I noticed when posting this at RPGNet:
  • Prepared spells are now level + casting stat modifier (so for most purposes, level + 3 or 4 at 1st-3rd level, level + 5 by mid-levels)
  • Turn undead's destruction clause is now triggered by CR, not Max HP.

Interesting.

"You can prepare a number of spells equal to your level + your Wisdom modifier" - This cleric can choose to prepare up to four spells at level 1, plus the two domain spells always available. No bonus spell slots (which is good for power levels), but it's nice that having a good primary stat will make a bigger difference now.

If you add +1 to the entire array you get 16/15/14/13/11/9, which was what the human fighter had. They still have +1 to all stats.
