I asked my players about this earlier, and they very strongly said NO to pregens. They really like to own their characters, and I can't blame them honestly. We may have a few scrums with the pregens to get a feel for the new rules, but my group doesn't want to start the adventure proper until they can build from scratch.

As much as I'd love to pick up the module and start playing ASAP, it's just not practical for me, finance-wise. Even the cost of the core books is going to mean sacrificing food and other luxuries to afford.

Playing it the first Thursday night after it drops.

We've got three people who want to DM the sucker, so I predict a dance-off.

Exactly. Pregens are no fun at all, except for demos and conventions. At least for my players. And me.

Cheers, LT.

Spending two weeks becoming intimately familiar with KotS, so I'll be ready to run it (with their own characters) on Sunday after GameDay. I might run a demo game before GameDay at the game shop before GameDay, though.

I've pre-ordered it and may run it as a 4E "practice run", but I voted "Waiting for the books" because my main player (married to her) has already indicated she wants an urban-based cloak & dagger campaign in Greyhawk for the next "long haul."

This sounds about the same for me. We currently have an AoW game going right now and I don't want to disrupt that, but I imagine once people start playing 4e, they won't want to go back to the 3.5 AoW game I have right now.

Since they'll be about 8th or 9th level at that time, converting characters would be really tough and it would be quite a load on my part to get the AP converted as well.

Who knows..... Maybe we just switch entirely...
