Shocking Grasp
Arm Slot (Duh.)

When you make an attack with a metal weapon or an unarmed strike while wielding these gauntlets, which are a metallice emerald color, and go up to just below your elbow, with separations at the fingers for joint movement, and a little glowing pad on the palm, you add the effects of Shocking Grasp, as cast from a 5th level Wizard, with a range of touch. When using defensive fighting, these gauntlets add +1 to your AC.

*+1 Against metal objects, and you add your strength modifier when used to overcome SR.

How would you guys price this, and what you make the creation costs?

Unusual. Normally effects like Shock or Shocking Burst added to a weapon don't allow SR at all.

Of course, they don't do 5 dice of extra damage either, so there's a balance in there.

What type of bonus are they adding to AC when fighting defensively? Armor? Shield? Deflection? Or the infamous "Unnamed Bonus" that stacks with everything?

On the face of it I'd price it as 1st level spell x 5th level caster x 2000 for "Use activated", and add in 1/2 the cost of a +1 defensive item, for a total of 11k.

Then I'd look at the utility and power, compare it to other items in the book, and double that.

agree with the price break down but left out the cost of the item itself masterwork insulated steel gauntlets. say +2k?

wait...they could just be masterwork green leather gauntlets

However do the magic gauntlets cost for the actual gauntlets?

It's an armor bonus. They're made of metal, so it makes some sense, but I didn't want to make it too powerful, because yes, it does apply to every attack. It's not a "charges," (ironic, I know) it's constant current running through the gloves.

Hahahahahahahaha. Surprisingly, not the first thing that came to mind, but very funny. I young memories of that show.
