Stealth Rules Check

Stealth rules seem to have been changed a number of times. Sometimes you need partial cover/concealment. Sometimes you need full. Seems to get murky.

So, if all it takes is "concealment", could a Warlock use shadow-walk to gain concealment, and thereby get to roll stealth by "Hiding in his/her own shadows"?
This has come up a few times in games, so clarity would be helpful.

You need total concealment/improved cover to gain the hidden condition. You need concealment or cover to maintain the hidden condition. Also note that the warlock needs to beat the passive Perception of all opponents, and anyone spotting the warlock can point out their exact location as a free action. And finally, a creature can make a Perception check as a minor action.

Warlocks rarely have high Dex or Stealth training, so really the technique isn't a useful one.

It CAN be a good tactic, actually, but you do have to invest in Stealth to really make it work. It is one of the few "look ma, I can just walk around in the open and nobody sees me!" tricks that you can pull off at low levels.
