stevils encounter sheet not working? heres how to fix it!

Plane Sailing

Astral Admin - Mwahahaha!
I tried Stevils excel encounter generation sheet (highlighted on the enworld front page) and it wouldn't work - #NAME problems cropped up all over the place.

it turns out that you have to install and activate the analysis toolpak in order to have access to the RANDBETWEEN function which gets used lots.

In Excel 2000 you need to go Tools/AddIn... and select the Analysis Toolpak. It may need to install the Toolpak first, in which case do so, close the spreadsheet, reopen it and go to Tools/AddIn again and complete the selection of the toolpak.

Once this is done the spreadsheet works properly.

Cheers

Hey thanks Plane Sailing, I was just about to come in here and complain that the nifty tool was not working for me! Thanks a lot! I love this place...

Looking at this. it looks great BTW. Nice job. The only thing that might make it better is if you could select a monster to get an encounter. As a random tool its great looking, I am just talking about the times when you want "a ogre" and you don't want to deal with the variables.

Still though, a great resource and a very nice job!
