Chose Warcaster, really as a prequel to the next feat.
Tranio has the ability to raise dead and revivify, but he needs diamonds for that -- at some point it would be worth putting aside 300 or 500gp of diamonds so that we can face death more confidently. (Also, it may be that Tranio believes people would want to stay dead -- that he assumes everyone has a DNR in place. If we do get diamonds, let him know if you want to be revived!

There are a few spells Tranio has prepared --

Commune (could be a ritual if we wait 10 min) allows three y/n questions. ("Can we achieve surprise by going in this entrance?" etc.; I'd take suggestions.)

Calm emotions is prepared for fear effects (Could be cast pre-emptively). Also Bless.

I'm happy for us to talk some tactics as we approach.

Taking 10 minutes this close to te lair could lose us surprise when if we had it now. Old dragon didn't get old by being unaware.

That said:
Are there creature more powerful than me except for the dragon?
Are there other way in big enough for the giants?
Does the dragon know about us as a group ? I.e is she following out progress...
