D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder

The combination of magic and arrows easily cut down the two fleeing orcs. The remaining enemy is overwhelmed by Ordrar and Bethany. A well placed shield to the head knocks the creature out, but leaves him alive for further questioning.

Carolina inspects both the bridge and other side of the cliff, but finds no further danger. She does find numerous old tracks in the mud. They seem to indicate the number of orcs were double what you encountered, but half left awhile ago. Along side the orcs is a strange set of prints too. They are barefoot and bipedal, but bigger than anything she has ever encountered before.

Then let's get across, as planned in post 343:

Tranio is concerned about the amount of weight the bridge can support. He offers to cross first (with others in the party, if desired), followed by the villagers once they are given a signal, and then followed by Spuds.

He steps onto the bridge.

"Looks like the danger is gone for the moment," the halfling says. She pauses at the huge footprint. "But we might have something bigger than a band of orcs to worry about here."

When it is his turn, Aremus will cross and have a look at the print.

OOC: I'm not used to Nature being an Intelligence-based skill. You'd think Aremus would be good at it. He speaks Giant, by the way. Has some experience with them, if it means anything.

With the orcs defeated, the others gather the townsfolk to ready them to cross the bridge. Dren slips across after Carolina, not wanting to leave the little halfling alone in the fog with a potential band of orcs wandering the place. He noted the tracks she pointed out.

“More giants?” he wondered, resting his hands on the axes at his belt. “Let’s check these orcs.” Dren started going through the bodies, checking for valuables before he pitched them over the cliff into the river.

OOC: Not sure if we have time for a short rest as everyone is crossing? Otherwise does anyone mind if I drink the one potion of healing we have?
