[Knightfall]

I went to see the new Street Fighter movie tonight. Man, it had the cheesiest dialogue I've heard in a movie for a LOOONG time. The fight sequences were okay but nothing spectacular.

Wow. It was bad. It was "a liberal spread of cheese on burnt white toast" bad. It was so bad that it might be 'cult classic' good in about ten years. Hmm... maybe not.

Well, I enjoyed the original. I'm hoping to see the sequel with my group on Thursday afternoon.

We were hoping this movie would realize midway through that it was bad and play up on it. Instead its a really bad movie. So bad that there's a razzie in its future. So bad that the firt one is better, in only that it plays to its cheese factor.

The smallville chick really brought the movie down. Her wooden acting and slow fight scenes made me wonder harder why she was chosen. It was like everyone in the movie heard about this game street fighter and tried to figure it out along the wayl. We were really hoping for more over the top cheesiness to save the movie. I knew the movie was going to be terrible when the only preview we saw was some hammy acting, but there should have at least been some amazing mortal kombat style fights.

And the plot was just dumb. I think at one point they show M.Bison, whose white, as a chinese baby. And then he grows up in china on the streets, but he has an Irish accent.

Well, considering that I was not bored with it, was a good sign.

I will note, that was very modern, in visual.Sorry, no MC style fights, this is a Capcom IP after all.

Judging from the initial try, it felt like a test film (plus the majority of the cast have express much, in doing a sequel).Comparing to the 1st one, much better, but not great by a long shot.

There's room for improvement, and Capcom is learning to get their feet wet, again.

Does Duncan get any decent fights? Most of the live action movies I have seen had him in non violent roles, so I'd like to see him kicking ass pounding some faces.

How is Taboo's portrayal of Vega ? The character is more than just a mask and a claw, but I have my doubts if the movie will treat him as anything more than a mook. I'm not asking for too much, but a least a nod to his mass murders would be nice.

And does M Bison have any supernatural abilities in this one?

Vega's ego is portayed...and yes, he mass murders, on a small scale.

Bison--A Supernatural feature is done, but not the way you think, for his fighting skills.
