Strength, Power Attack and Quarterstaffs

Alright, so monks can flurry for two attacks... using a quarterstaff. But is that to be considered attacking using the quarterstaff two handed? In that case wouldn't the monk get strength and a half on damage as well as the +2 for every -1 on power attack?

This is how i beleive it is seeing as WOTC has covered that monks CAN use flurry AND TWF... giving them yet another attack but with a hefty penalty on ALL their attacks...

clarification would be greatly appreciated

"When using weapons as part of a flurry of blows, a monk applies her Strength bonus (not Str bonus x 1-1/2 or x 1/2) to her damage rolls for all successful attacks, whether she wields a weapon in one or both hands."

Power Attack, however, is not affected; if the monk is using the quarterstaff two-handed as part of a Flurry of Blows, she'll only add her normal Str bonus to damage (since Flurry explicitly says so), but she'll use 2-for-1 Power Attack (since she's using a two-handed weapon, and not treating it as a double weapon).

also, another unrelated question... I know about improved critical and power critical... but i could have sworn that I have seen a feat that will increase the damage of the critical hit... ie change x2 to x3 or x3 to x4 etc... anyone have any idea what book that might be in?

Some 3rd party's had that as feats IIRC. AEG's Mercanaries, Mongoose's Class books (both 3.0) come to mind.

Other than class abilities (weapon master, etc) I am not aware of feats (or spells) in the WotC books, not that I have all of them.
