Sudden Metamagic Feats

I'm sure this has been covered before. Apologies ahead of time.

For a spontaneous caster like a warmage, is it a full round action to apply the effects of say, Sudden Empower, to one of his spells? I'm presuming so, since ordinary metamagic requires a full round action, but I was wondering if the Sudden tree of feats was a carveout to the general rule.

It's not a spell but a feat and those who cast spontaneously don't need to take a full-round action to apply a Sudden Metamagic feat to a spell. IIRC correctly it specifically points this out.

No, the sudden feats were specifically designed to appeal to those who had issue with [whined about IMO] the core metamagic feats.
