Suggestions for Sword Name

Ruined

My players, you'll probably want to stay out of this thread as it reveals a few pieces of information.

Hello all. I run a Scarred Lands campaign (see .sig below). In recent events, one of the PCs found an enchanted short sword while exploring through an undead-infested crypt. The crypt was originally the resting place of holy men of the law god, Hedrada.

The short sword is a +1 blade, +1d6 vs. chaos (not as powerful as 'Lawful' weapons), and will have one extra power, possibly Zone of Truth 1/day. The main decoration on the sword is a stylized set of scales on the bottom of the hilt.

I'm looking for a good name for the sword, but so far nothing good has come to mind. Something along the lines of 'Lawgiver', except that that term is used to reference Hedrada himself. Any ideas?

da' judge

as in "here comes da' judge!"

then, when they reach a hoigher level you can give them an intelligent sword that is judgemental called the jury.

then, when they are uberpowerfull add in a sword called the executioner.....the three in concert makes for a serious butt kickin' time :)

If you aren't making up a backstory for the sword let the PC's name it. It makes a connection for the player and it adds character to their style, especially if the PC is a "showy" fighter type.

Other wise, I'd go with An-Torag, a name from an ancient society that was structured and fought off the chaotic hoards around it (think stereotypical Rome). The name could mean "settler of chaos" or some other phrase (if you're running a jovial campaign go with something a little corny, or if it's serious give it an adequetely serious name). Good luck.

Hmm, I'm leaning towards Advocate , or the Middle English version, Advocat. Some of the ones Hand of Evil posted are tempting as well.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, so far!

Ordinator (it makes thing orderly)
Sanction (it is jsut and right)
Probitor (upright, straight)
Dictum (law, but the name leads to some very interesting puns)
