Champions - I don't have to slam this game. They did it for me. This the only game where you can have the most powerful character in the Mega-verse who takes damage from being alive, is allergic to every known sustance, watches over 101 sickly grandmothers, and is hunted by every intelligent being in the universe...and get patted on the back for doing it .....

I need to work on my sense of humor. I was all ready to reply to this, then realized "Oh, he's kidding.":)

Champions: New Millenium - The bastard gaming system that only its own mother could love.....awww..coochy-coo, little feller.....squish!!!

Talk about a mouse built to government specifications. Originally called Champions Lite during the time they wanted a much simpler system that would appeal to younger players. Then they wanted a new universial system. And finally they ended up with something at least as complicated as the original but tougher to use and less flexible. I fondly recall the year at Gencon the Hero Games people were ignoring they produces Champions because they wanted to push Fuzion, so Champions questions were sent over to the Gold Rush Games booth.

Two of my favorites, supers and poker.

Well then Marvel Saga is for you!!

It does have maybe the coolest set of character creation rules of any game though. You get dealt a certain amount of cards and use the numbers and colors and stuff to make your character. That part was really cool.

Umm... You're forgetting Godlike.

It's the only Superhero RPG I've ever been remotely interested in playing or running...

Oh crap. How could i forget The Godlike!

Why its the most...uh....er....okay, ya got me! I never read it. :D

Whats wrong with it?

Hey, bub. Who says i'm kidding!!! :\

LOL. Champions is alright. I'd never run it again, though. Too much math for me in my old age. The math is not so much hard (god, i can still do the formulas in me head even now!) once your use to it, but there is lots and lots of it. No game will let you control every aspect of your character though, no one can argue that. Its strength can be its greatest weakness. Which is pretty super-heroey, if you think about it. :)

Ugh. The biggest uh, funny thing....with Fuzion was that they really thought everyone would ditch their 200 champions supplement for a whole new line of books featuring the same old characters with new twists. Whah whah.

Gah. Fuzion. Best still-birthed idea ever! :)
The future of Cyberpunk, too. Yeah thanks. Was anyone actually unhappy with the regular cyberpunk system? I never heard about it. Not that they are ever going to come out CP 3 "The Fuzion Wars". That or they are just waiting for all the old CP players to die off before they bring out the new one!

................You know....i can't quite point out the moment in time when i became a grumpy SOB. It just sorta happened. :)

I'm a big fan of Blood and Vigilance, if you like using d20 Modern as a base for a supers game, or have d20 Modern fans you'd like to introduce to Supers pretty easily.

I've heard very good things about M&M and Godlike, but never played either.

Since it seems a bunch of SuperHero RPG lovers are all in one place i was wonderin'...

Is there a MnM, or even just a Super Hero Story in the Story Hour Forum that is updated regularly?
I searched through a bit and didn't find anything, so i thought i would Ask.

P.S. Sorry for Hijacking this Thread! :(

So is Vigilance and Blood and Vigilance the same game, or are we talking about two different games? Does BAV use the Quick Hero and Strong Hero classes like standard D20 Modern? That might be the first time i like the use of those generic classes for a game. hmm.

Blacklamb? Sounds like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arch enemy! :D

There used to be a M&M story on there called Odd Squad. It was a pretty cool offbeat hero group. I liked it a lot. But just as the guy was writing it into full swing i think his group fell apart. Plus my computer died for 2 or 3 months ad i was around to encourage him. Too bad, it was real nifty. :(

I thought about writing a story about some characters i came up with, but figured there wasn't much interest in the supers genre on these boards. So i put it on the back burner a while ago.

PS: Damn you, Blacklamb!! I'll stop your villainous highjacks, or my name isn't uh...the Stupendous Silverfish!!!

Except Iron Man...annn....Hawk-eye (course he's dead, so who cares really)....annn....Vision.....annn..welll....any technological hero, basically. Everyone is a hero because of that super-gland that grows inside them. How much does that thing weigh anyway? Can i get a transplant or something? :D
Note my careful use of the words "pretty much" heh. The Player's Guide adds gadgets and such, but won't allow Iron Man style characters still. You can harness your Q Blast in a pistol or make a medallion to allow hyperflight tho, provided it's a power you posess. This would save you quantum points when ya really need em.
