Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Yeah, if one can ignore what one knows about the lead actor, Lois & Clark was great and probably the only time the characters actually managed real sex appeal and chemistry, on the page or off. Given how important their romance is to the franchise, it's noteworthy how passionless it's been over the years.
That was one big thing about Man of Steel. I like Amy Adams but I did not feel any chemistry with her and Cavill. The new superman and lois seemed a much better fit for each other.

9/10 for me! I loved it!

If I have any complaints, it’s that they made Ma and Pa Kent a bit too country bumpkin for my tastes, and they really did Jor-el and Lara dirty.

But easily my favorite incarnations of Superman and Lois! I loved the interview scene. It was a great counterpoint to Snyder’s heavy handed seriousness, showing you can still talk about the ramifications of Superman’s actions and keep the overall tone of the movie light. Also noted that it’s the reporters who take down Luthor in the end (well…after he’s physically taken down by Krypto!)

Just thrilled all around to have a great Superman movie past the Donner movies!

Pretty much loved this movie.

It's such a fresh take on the character - Superman as just a guy, who gets frustrated, angry, lashes out, gets hurt, has to recover - and Corenswet was perfect casting for this approach.

The only thing that sticks in my craw is the "proton river" sequence - it's a classic garish too-CGI-reliant action sequence, I don't know what a proton river is or does, I don't get how Superman manages to keep a hold of the baby, keep it above the surface of the river, keep any stray pummels, shots or unconscious bodies away from the baby, I don't know why Superman isn't hurt by it. It hurt my eyes and my brain. Generally I just think it's ill-conceived and feels like the pre-vis made it all the way to a fully-rendered sequence without any supervision or direction.

And chances are that sequence won't bother me the second time through, so...

They're actually supposed to be anti-protons, part of the building block of matter. Since he's Superman, that doesn't do to him what antimatter does to normal matter, which is to blow it up, suicide bomber style. It was a very silly comic book science sequence, like all the Marvel Comics characters who use "dark matter" and "dark energy," which is depicted as shadow stuff.

(Dark energy and dark matter really just means "unknown" types of energy and matter, because astrophysicists don't seem to realize the rest of the world will run with the most literal popular interpretation of things. While we don't know yet for sure what either is, they're probably just energy or matter that's imperceptible to us for one of a number of regions, and not intrusions from a spooooky netherworld.)

Hmm. I don't know about "dark energy" or "dark matter" in Marvel (though I know it was a Big Deal in the Alternity RPG back in the 90s). What they do have is Darkforce, which is energy/force from another dimension and which is primarily used by Cloak (whose body is normally intangible and a portal to said dimension) and Darkstar (who can channel Darkforce into making physical constructs, sort of like a Green Lantern, as well as fly and a limited form of teleportation).
