Too much good memories with Acererak and Vecna. I'll fight tooth and nails to keep them alive up to the end.

Hero
Are there enough death knights in D&D to make a list? To come up with thirteen notable liches, I had to get pretty far into the weeds, and there are a lot more liches than death knights in D&D lore. The only death knight I can name without Googling is Lord Soth.

Ah yes, they do seem to be rather rare. OTTOMH there's a post- Second Cataclysm death knight in Dragonlance whose name escapes me and is a major antagonist. Another appears in an adventure or two. In Greyhawk there's Kargoth and his erstwhile cronies, including one Lorana Kath who is really rather gruesome. I'm not familiar with other worlds.

Legend
Fistandantilus's status after the destruction of his body (when he tried to open the Portal and it blew up in his face) has been described in a lot of ways, but in the original "Dragons of Hope" adventure he is explicitly stated to be a demilich. As far as I'm concerned, that's good enough.
I've not played or read the DL adventures, so I'm only familiar via the novels. In the novels he's nothing like a lich, so I'm glad to see he belongs here.
