Despite the Star Wars tendency towards single biosphere planets it's still worth reminding that we saw just one metropolitan area, and a single school. There could be sentients or droids, elsewhere, performing activities like farming and mining. The former would almost certainly be happening if the planet is truly isolated, and self sufficient.

I’m inclined to think not. If there were multiple cities and schools on one planet the kids would be familiar with the idea that they are all built to identical plans and just think “oh we are in another city”. Nine planets, nine identical cities, no other habitation.

I would presume so, since it seems to be built to the same plan, and looks like an original feature. It might even become a plot point in the last episode.

That was charming, I had expected a break the cutie moment for Wim and I'm kind of glad it didn't happen.

Personally, I have no idea what’s going on with the central mystery(s), but really enjoying the ride.
Always interested to read other peoples theories. Any speculation on who the previous captain might have been?

I’ve always been a huge fan of Jude Law, he’s one of those actors that seems to have chemistry with everyone. Watching him in this has reminded me that early in his career, Law was in some great non-franchise sci-fi, like Gattaca, eXistenZ and Artificial Intelligence AI. Nice to see him back in the genre.

Using Neel to explore pacifism further endeared him to me as a charcter.

We didn’t get much KB this episode, can’t wait for her to see her get some more focus in future episodes.

Any speculation on who the previous captain might have been?

The murderous Captain Pseudo-Flint you mean? I don't think he is anyone we have seen so far on screen, but he might be the Supervisor of At Atin if he is still alive, which takes us back to the question of "when?". The implication is he is/was a pirate, but he could have been nihil or sith. Really left-field suggestion: Darth Plagueis.

There were some clues about the time period in last episode, depending on how careful the production designers are being. We saw a Phantom Menace to Clone Wars period tank. The amount of tree regrowth suggested around 30 years to me (with a lot of unknown variables). That suggests At Achrann was trashed around the Clone Wars period. Obviously built and hidden earlier.

Did "Flint" trash At Achrann (and the other 7) or did he arrive on an already devastated planet to find and obliterate the At Atin co-ordinates after the event?

After, because SM-33 said that the world was dangerous last time he visited and that the pirates had to sneak past the warring clans to get to the Supervisor’s tower.

Well, I think that takes care of all the theories that he is just using tricks and is not Force-sensitive. The next question is what kind of force user is he? Since he seems to know how a lightsaber works, I am sticking with the Padawan theory, as he is around the right age to have been a kid when Order 66 happened.

And other people were right about At Attin being a mint of some kind. Now we just need to find out if it is from the Old Republic of 1000 BBY to 19 BBY or the original Old Republic of 5000 BBY.

Yes, he's certainly at least passingly familiar with some of the tenets of the Jedi code, though he clearly doesn't set much stock in them.

Incidentally, I noticed the other day that the first reference to the "old Republic" is in Episode IV, when Tarkin announces the dissolution of the Senate. "The last vestiges of the old Republic have been swept away."

I really liked the design of the huge alien in the spa. The whole resort was well done, I wonder how much was real locations.

I have seen several articles online (which I cannot locate at the moment), that for Skeleton Crew they went back to many of the techniques used in the Original Trilogy.

They had a SFX/VFX guy from Lucasfilm reproducing things from the old days, and hired an ILM matte painting artist out of retirement to work on the series.

Based upon the little pieces of behind the scenes that have been released as well, I suspect that anything the actors are directly interacting with and very close to is "real" and physical (although perhaps touched up with a bit of CGI), while the backgrounds are the matte paintings, especially for things like the spa just visited.

Now, the space ships? That may be all CGI, or perhaps they have gone old-school with models. Not sure there.
