Sweeping Blow is a Close Burst 1 Fighter attack.
Do a Fighter get the chance to Combat Challenge each opponent in the burst area (since he attacks them all)?

You get the choice to mark anyone you attack (every time you attack anything).
This is nice 'cos sometimes you don't want to mark them (for instance if a Paladin has a divine challenge on them), 'cos each creature can only have 1 mark on them.

CC attack (it's not an opportunity attack, so no wis bonus or combat reflexes, etc) is an Immediate Interrupt, not a reaction.
Very important.
Ridiculously very important.
Because you get to hit 'em before they finish their action.

How important?
If you kill 'em, they don't get to finish their swing!
Heck, if they making a melee swing vs. your buddy, you can activate your thundering weapon's ability and push them out of range!

I thought if you hit someone with an interrupt the person that got hit cant complete its action.. so if someone moves away, you may interrupt, you hit, the otherperson cannot move away, right?

No. After you finish your interrupt action, they get to resume whatever they were doing, unless what you did makes their action no longer valid. (Such as if you pushed them so that the target they were going to attack is out of range.)

I think you might be confusing this case with Combat Superiority, which cancels the (move) action that provoked the Combat Challenge extra attack. Paladins' attacks do not stop the movement, unless the free attack kills (or immobilizes) the enemy.

Actually, Combat Superiority grants you the move cancel if you hit on an opportunity attack, not the interrupts granted by Combat Challenge. A lot of people seem to think the two are one and the same, as I did when I first ran a fight using the system. It's not the case.

Ah, good point. Although Combat Challenge will never kick in when the enemy makes an actual move, only a shift or attack will activate it, so I suppose the enemy can shift away without you being able to stop him, but since a move provokes an OA, it will stop him. Right?
