Sword of Betrayal and Loyalty

This old sword seems to be crusted with rust, but still holds an exceptional edge. Whilst it may appear bedraggled but it also looks like it would last another hundred years. When held by those who serve the good it will be the bane of all evil, however once it slips into those evil hands it changes to serve its master.

The sword acts as though an align weapon spell had been cast on it, with one notable (and previously noted) exception, the weapons alignment changes, so in the hands of a chaotic good ranger the sword of betrayal and Loyalty is a Good, Chaotic sword bypassing certain creatures DR.

If the weapon is to be possessed (held) by two creatures or persons the item will not allow the weaker creature to hold it, siding with the stronger. If the weapon if made to be intelligent the weapon still changes alignment.

Caster level : 4th; Prerequests : Craft arms and Armour, Align weapon

I can't figue the cost of this spell.

The exception is that if you just cast the spell it only applys one aligbnment, the swords alignment matches the weilders, and changes to match new weilders alignments.

I like it, though I'd add a little more betrayal to it somehow.

For the cost, why not add the cost of good and lawful enchantment?

Whilst that makes sence, I have already devised a price 2sl*3cl*2000 doubled for being unlimited 24,000, Is that too much?

it's too low IMO, a fixed price work only for extra abilities on a weapon which doesn't affect Bab or damage (like init bonus).

Too low? I had heard that Enhancements bonuses were thrown out the window, but thats just a crazy rumor.

Is +3 too big/small ?

I would say +4 would be fine, especialy in 3.5

First because characters with extreme alignement are the more likely to hold them, they won't see a difference between the sword and a lawful good one for exemple.

Second, because in 3.5 it gives extra flexibility, if the group has a chaotic and a lawful character, they could lend the sword to the character who will be able to hurt the chaotic or lawful monster.

Ok, I'll try to play test it. I think +4 is too big, but I'll go with you on this....
