It appears to be headed for the shoot that the heroes entered the complex through. Suddenly, Gremlin's body explodes, sending a blast of radiation over the heroes.

OOC: Found my book. I wasn't familiar with Rush. Fortitude saves all around, including Ghost (affects insubstantial).

Ghost groans, "Oh man, we have ben dupped I think.. Pocking Null..."
Before realising he is below ground and so noone can hear him.

All of the heroes make it through the exposion relatively unscathed. As they pick themselves up they hear a man's voice calling from a nearby chamber in the lab, "Can anyone hear me? HELP!"

 

[JRYoung]

"Ugh!" A-phib exclaims, shaking off the effects of the explosion. Hearing the call for help he realizes that quick action is necessary.

"OK Resolutes, we've got to get this situation under control. Twilight Gryphon, you're speedy with those wings, follow that monster and don't let it get out of your sight. Stay in contact over the com-link. The rest of you are with me, let's find that voice!"

A-phib pulls the communicator from his belt and sprints off towards the voice. "Aquaphibian to base, Aquaphibian to base, we've got a problem..."

Ghost pops up from the floor and quips, "Well if you don't want me to fly ahead of it and wreck the entry door controls so it can't get out... No problem. I mean fast is nice, but I can ghost through the walls beating it to the entry door, wreck the contriols, and it can't see me or touch me while I do it? (smiles) Well whichever A-man..."

 

[JRYoung]

"I was thinking we might need you to help the person calling to us Ghost. Let's see what that is first before sending you to the entry door." Aphib responds.

OOC: I wonder if we can stop it, and how fast it is. I also wonder if trapping the monster down here will also trap us as well...

Gryphon nods at Aquaphibian and takes off after the thing.

. o { Whatever that doppleganger emitted caused this creature to feed and grow, taking into account that the explosion could have affected us negativly (although there seem to be no immediate effects of the pulse) perhaps the rays effects (whatever biological base they have) could be reveresed via healing it...after all that worked on the Demon in the Sewers in Baldur's Gate II...there is a possibility of a simular effect working in this situation!}

OOC: Okay I'm going out on a limb here but... Knowledge (physical sciences) 22 to determine what Gremlin emitted, & Knowledge (life sciences) 15 to determine what effect (if any) removing the energy absorbed from the creature would produce.

Ghost nods and uses x-ray vision to look for the person calling for help, being sure to let everyone know what he sees

Ghost recognizes Dr. McCarthy in the next room. He doesn't appear to be bound in any way. Gryphon doesn't have a clue as to what the energy could be. She does surmise that it caused the creature to grow, but isn't sure how to remove the energy. Suddenly, it smashes the roof of the tunnel and blocks her progress.

OOC: 1 HP for TG, GM fiat to let creature escape.
