T&T - Dynamite or Dud?

First Post
Hi All,

Just wondering, is there any interest or excitement out there in gaming land for the new edition of Tunnels & Trolls? If it's like I remember, a simpler D&D with a tinge of humor, I'll be very interested. On the other hand I have to ask myself, if I remember it so foundly why don't I play it regularly?

Ya, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it. Castles and Crusdaes didn't really grab me like I'd hoped so I'm hoping this one does.

It's one of those things that if I were rich (or even just not poor-ish), I wouldn't mind having, because it's neat. But I don't think I'd ever play it much.

It's really more like a version of the D6 system than like D&D. You rolls lots and lots of d6s.

Must buy, if only for the spell names:

Poor Baby (Healing spell)
Take That You Fiend (Blasting spell)
Oh Go Away (Fear spell)

There's one I dare not name here, that made no sense to me until a friend of mine chanted it out very loudly - it's a charm spell, 2nd level IIRC...

If you do play one of the older editions, or if the new edition still does nonhuman races via multipliers, be EXTREMELY careful of allowing nonhumans with modifiers to dexterity, luck, or strength. Elven archers could do insane things with bows, at first level.

I'm surely going to give it a good look at GenCon. I'm kind of inclined to spring for it because I like to see the old guard like Rick Loomis keep on keepin' on, and the FDP crew are fine folks to boot.
