T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

After Quozen points out the apparent enemy, does Ngikhnit see anything? And if so, what?

If he sees a creature on the ground, which seems to be hostile to the best he can tell, and there is space for him to get in front of the others and within 20' of the creature with a move action, he will do that and stomp as a standard action.

If not, he will be holding his flail with two hands, ready to attack should he become aware of something in a definite enough spot to be able to attack.

Quozen moves into position immediately in front of Ngikhnit, rapier held to defend from... nothing at all that anyone else can see.[sblock=Quozen]The creature slithers onwards. Somehow, even though it was right beside you, you cannot keep your eye on it. From one moment to the next, you simply lose track of it, as though it has slipped between hidden gaps in the air. But it was not moving very fast, and you hear the faintest of sucking, slimy scraping noises off to your left.[/sblock][sblock=Maps][sblock=Midias,Peladus,Pendrake]

OOG: Some rules notes, while I think of it.

Against an opponent you cannot see, you lose your Dex to AC, which also means that you lose the AC bonus from the Dodge feat. I'll assume Quozen and Pendrake gain the benefit of Dodge whenever possible, so there's no need to specifically re-declare it.

You can make a Listen check as a free action each round to determine the rough direction to a creature you can't see. 'A successful check lets a character hear an invisible creature "over there somewhere,"' says the SRD. I've been doing this behind the scenes, and will keep doing so.

You can also choose to spend a move action to make either a Spot or Listen check.

This might also be useful to remember: "A creature can grope about to find an invisible creature. A character can make a touch attack with his hands or a weapon into two adjacent 5-foot squares using a standard action. If an invisible target is in the designated area, there is a 50% miss chance on the touch attack. If successful, the groping character deals no damage but has successfully pinpointed the invisible creature's current location."

Midias

Midias, unable to see the thread, puts away his morningstar and grabs his holy symbol: "May Hyrag's divine light bless our endavours! ... What is it? Some kind of undead?" His first words fill his companions with courage, but his question betrays his own uneasyness.
[sblock=OOC]

Move action to put morningstar away.
Standard to cast bless.

OOC: just to let you know that Pendrake's flat foot a/c does not include the dodge bonus iaw raw.

Inititive:
1d20+6=23

"Comeenzee mein friens! To battle ! Voor eer en glorie! fur honor und glory! " He says hushedly, Though with conviction.

movement for this round:
North west for 5 squares, west 2 squares to put him on Quozen's north (right) flank.

That puts the sunrod there too. That movement takes up a move action and a standard action (as a move) action

Quozen looks around. "It hides again! No clue what it is, or what it wants!"

He steps north, to the closest stall, and peers inside for anything that might be powdery.

North west for 5 squares, west 2 squares to put him on Quozen's north (right) flank.
He steps north
OOG: IVV, literal 5' step north? That's the same square as indicated by Pendrake, who acts first.

Scott, I rolled initiatives already - Pendrake got a 16, which isn't quite as good as your roll, but oh well - Ngikhnit wasted a natural 20.

As Rae just noted in another thread, sblocks posted after a certain time seem to be broken right now. I can open my sblocks in #172, but not those in #174 or #175. At least you can view text within them by hitting the quote button.

Actions from Ngikhnit and Peladus in light of current events needed, and I can summarise the round.

Hmm.. Total Defense is a dodge bonus, so that's also pointless.

OK, Ngikhnit will try a Spot, and if that fails, a Listen. If his Spot works, and the creature is in melee range, he will enter a rage and swing his flail (2-handed); if it would take more than a 5' step to get into melee range, but he is within 20' and has a direction that would catch the mysterious creature but not his allies, he will stomp.

"What is it? I don't see anything," he asks Quozen.
