T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

[sblock=Ngikhnit]Quozen slips past you and disappears into the mist. No sudden appearance of the creature or tell-tale swirl of mist from something hidden ensues.[/sblock][sblock=Quozen]As you move past Ngikhnit's shoulder, the strange creature comes into view within the mist. It is huddled low, looking somewhat like a pancake with ruffled edges. Its twin tentacles stir the mist above it slightly, and a blocky limb is withdrawing back into the main body. It seems it is busy with this procedure, or perhaps uninterested in you, since it does not respond to your passing as you head into a flanking position with a market stall on your right.

OOG: this leaves Q a standard action, if you want to do something with it. Since you can see the creature, Dodge bonus applies and you could enter total defense; or you could ready an action; or just drop the standard action.[/sblock]

Quozen hacks out, "Wait! Stop your attacks! >cough< I've been the slave of an orc for a week, I've had armies of undead chase me... but all this thing has done so far is blow some foul air at us! It hasn't even swung at us!"

He spits up something noisily, and finishes, "Let's just get ourselves to better air and see what happens!"

[sblock=Ngikhnit]The mist swirls where you struck at the creature. The thing is moving away, southeast.

OOG: N's second pretty pointless natural 20 of the game, for this round's Fort save. Consider it well and truly passed.[/sblock][sblock=Pendrake]The mist swirls where you struck at the creature and missed. It is moving away, but the mist is too thick to tell in which direction.

OOG: you previously rolled a successful Fort save, so Pendake continues to resist the effects of the stinking cloud.[/sblock][sblock=Quozen]Alas, the extra breaths needed to call out to his companions are Quozen's undoing, as nausea overtakes him.

The creature slithers away south-east, and vexingly disappears again, though the swirl of the mist shows where it must be. And then, even as Quozen's stomach heaves again, it reappears fully in view behind him, reaching out towards him with a thin black extrusion that makes contact with his head with odd gentleness.

There are spells that attack the mind, that can be fought with an exercise of will. This is different. This slides into Quozen's mind behind all resistance, beyond all hope of defence.

Any mind would shy away from contact with the hostile alien thoughts. Quozen's thoughts cloud, his senses dull, and he feels disconnected from his own existence, as though he were scarcely even elven.[sblock=OOG]Quozen fails his Fort save and is nauseated for 3 rounds after leaving the cloud. He takes a penalty of 6 to each of Int, Wis and Cha, as Touch of Idiocy. He's effectively Int 8, Wis 8, Cha 2, for some multiple of 10 mins. This reduces his AC by 2 due to the loss of his Monk Wis bonus, and otherwise generally applies a -3 penalty where appropriate.[/sblock][/sblock][sblock=Maps][sblock=Ngikhnit]

[/sblock][/sblock]OOG: Ngikhnit is up, then Pendrake. Agonized screaming is a free action, too, of course. What?

Pendrake remembers that the creature was jsut east of 'N' and SE of himself, but is no longer. It seems to be moving slowly, or at least he hopes so. The young human moves SE 5 feet to see if can see where the creature moved to and will attack if he can get some sort of bearing as to where it is.

[sblock=Ngikhnit]Pendrake moves to where the creature was.[/sblock][sblock=Pendrake]As soon as you start moving, you see Quozen to your east. He looks overcome by the smell of the mist, stomach heaving. Somehow, he looks not himself, as though dazed or distracted.

OOG: 25 feet of move left... further actions now that you see Q?[/sblock][sblock=Quozen]Pendrake comes toward you through the mist, seeking.[/sblock]

Midias

Midias nods, but looks at his wound. With a grim face, he channels his gods power to the wound.

[sblock=OOC]

Don't know if I'm again. Midias will cast his domain spell on himself.

Pendrake leans to Quozen and says "Need you any help?"

Otherwise he will look about for any sign for the creature in the adjoining squares.
