T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

[sblock=orsal]OOG: when Ngikhnit reaches Pendrake's square, he sees the creature immediately east. He can't attack from Pendrake's square, of course, but could turn off N, S or SE. There's a market stall to the NE. Or I suppose he could continue into the creature's square, making an overrun or bull rush attempt.[/sblock]

Amendment to the previous plan: instead of continuing past Pendrake to the east, he goes one square to the southeast, and then attacks to the north (square due east of Pendrake).

But a natural 1 is still a natural 1.

From within the reeking mist, slithering sounds, grunts of pain, exclamations of anger, a wet ripping noise like the tearing apart of an overripe fruit. Beyond the mist, soft heaving of upset stomachs.[sblock=Pendrake]Ngikhnit bulls past, and as he sees the creature takes a hasty turn to the right. The creature slaps at him with an extruded limb, dealing a punishing blow to his thigh. Ngikhnit's return strike goes wild.

Pendrake brings his longsword down on the beast. The creature's outer surface is tougher than he might have expected. It is almost like striking wood. But he has delivered the attack with all the might he can bring to bear one handed, and Ilk's Bane breaks through this outer skin into soft, yielding inner flesh, carving deep through the creature's centre. The glistening black flesh pulls away from the blade on each side, already turning leathery in contact with the air.[/sblock][sblock=Ngikhnit]Ngikhnit bulls past Pendrake and the creature looms out of the mist, extrusions spread like a threatening black spider. He hastily turns to avoid running into it, but as he does so, an extruded limb slaps his thigh, with bruising force. The injury stings with acid. The distraction is enough to ruin his own attack.

Pendrake, angered, brings his longsword down on the beast with all the might he can bring to bear with a one handed attack, and Ilk's Bane breaks through the creature's tough outer skin into soft, yielding inner flesh, carving deep into its centre. The glistening black flesh pulls away from the blade on each side, already turning leathery in contact with the air.

OOG: AoO for leaving threatened square, hits AC 17, 6 damage. Ngikhnit is on 15 +2 rage -6 = 11, and 1 nonlethal.[/sblock][sblock=Maps][sblock=Ngikhnit]

[sblock=Midias, Peladus, Quozen]There are more noises from within the mist; the one least welcome is perhaps the sound of Pendrake, too, succumbing to the nauseating vapours.[/sblock][sblock=Ngikhnit]Pendrake's constitution betrays him, and he too suffers the effects of the nauseating mist.

The black tentacled creature is still writhing under the effects of his sword strike. It twists and tears - and pulls itself into two along the line of the incision. Each half puffs and swells like a mushroom in the rain, until almost as large as the parent creature. Each begins to grow a new waving tentacle.

One slips behind Pendrake out of sight, giving no opportunity for attack. The other slithers right between the two fighters... and somehow slips from Ngikhnit's sight, in the maddening way the creature has. The mist swirls violently, but neither Ngikhnit nor the heaving Pendrake is struck.

OOG: UT1 either 5' steps or withdraws NW and is lost to sight in the mist. UT2 5' steps SW and attacks from that square, although N remains unable to see it (50% miss chance).[/sblock][sblock=Pendrake]Pendrake has at last spent too much time breathing the horrid vapours and feels his gorge rising.

One slips behind Pendrake, giving Ngikhnit no opportunity for attack. It flails frantically, but cannot contact Pendrake. The other slithers right between the pair of fighters, and it too sets the mist swirling in fruitless aggression.

OOG: Pendrake rolled a 2 on his Fort save, and will be nauseated for 3 rounds on leaving the mist. Full attack on Pendrake from both creatures, no hits, even with the second one flanking. Rolled 5, 4, 5, 5, 7, 6! That is... lucky.[/sblock][sblock=Maps][sblock=Ngikhnit]

[/sblock][/sblock][sblock=OOG]And Round 6 begins.

Bless has been active for 6 rounds. Ngikhnit is in his 5th round of rage. Peladus is in his 4th post-cloud round of nausea and Quozen his 3rd (correction! I didn't count the round in which Q left the cloud as the first, as I did for Peladus. Q's nausea ends after this round). The stinking cloud is in its 5th round.

"Come out of the cloud! It has an advantage in there!"
Still not able to see anything Midias stays ready to attack.

[sblock=OOC]

Ready action: 5ft step and attack seen creature.

[MENTION=37250]Trouvere[/MENTION]: Would a zombie be allowed to ready a charge? If yes it would be strange that his hindrance can become an advantage.
