D&D 5E T1: The Village of Hommlet (IC)

"I won't know what I need until I see this moathouse," Kestrel says mildly. "But it seems there's a lot of us going. I'm sure we'll be fine."

Thadeous looks around at the others, ther surely are a fair few volunteers. Maybe like him they are adrift int the world looking for their next step.

"I believe I have all I need."

Burne nods approvingly, "Very well then. Follow the old trade road until you hit the swamp. If my assumptions are accurate, there should be a trail, possibly concealed, leading to the old moathouse, that's seen recent use. If not, you'll have to trudge through the muck a bit."

After several hours of trudging along the old road, Thadeous and Kestrel (OOC: Passive Perception 15 or higher) do indeed spot a cleverly concealed trail splitting off from the main road and in to the swamp.

There are standing pools of foul-smelling water on either side of the trail. Mosquitoes and other insects buzz incessantly and the noises of various other swamp creatures create a cacophony loud enough to make hearing anything else difficult. Swamp weeds and sickly looking trees complete the picture.

OOC: Everyone make a Perception check, please.

Dur'dan's Perception Roll:
[roll0]

(OOC :: Let me know if I'm doing this right. Dur'dan has a Wisdom of 10 so no modifiers there but Perception is a skill he has meaning he's proficient so he gets the +2 proficiency bonus right? Or am I retarded? Lol this is my first 5e run.)

OOC: If you have proficiency then, yes, you get the +2. Also, for future reference, I'd like to ask you to not use the "r" word. I realize you don't mean it to be offensive in this context, but it is still a slur against developmentally disabled people. Thanks.
