Tales of an Eternal Kingdom D&D 3.5 *Recruiting*

Of course I can't help but imagine some wise asses on the daylight side who just sit there with a big mirror and try to fry vampires with reflected sunlight. :p

haha nice.

well then evil will be the first one I prepare. Just post your char sheets, since we hit 3 if more want to join and the disparity isn't huge i'll slide them into the party.

once all three sheets are posted I'll post the intro for you guys to start meeting. and i'll put the maps up this weekend.

Sounds cool. although I do wonder how a civilization living under a desert of eternal night manages to feed their millions of slaves. Fishing is the only thing that springs to mind, or possibly some artifact class food generating items.

So if we were to play the evil campaign, we would be starting as tagged human minions? Are humans the only slaves or are there other minion races like the classic werewolves, or merely other D&D humanoids. Working your way up to vampirehood is an obvious path, but what other options exist? Other forms of undeath?

Hmmm. One of my all time favorite PrCs back in 3e was a necromancy inclined bodyguard from the excellent Hollowfaust book for scarred lands. Could I take a stab at adapting it for 3.5? ... On second thought that book is in storage, damm. I'll have to see what I have available.

you start off in a woods. you come from the material plane, and end up in this alternate world. you were given a bribe(the masterwork equipment), and then you helped a man in a red cloak with an experiment. next thing you know you wake up in a woods, and hear a sound in the distance. when you get there you run into a man dressed in black royal clothing (and the rest of the party).

tho those willing to get tricky on me can roll a spot check and intelligence check with their intro post, and they'll get some extra information when starting.

as for other undeath, and lycan. you'll have to see when you get to the city. as for feeding slaves....

all about the city in the Kingdom of Light is surrounded by endless plantations, the city is vegetarian because of this lack of meat. it's a lot of land to keep track of, that's another part of the campaign backstory. also the arcane vampires are incredibly good with magic. those items can be common.

I will say that the first offers you get for templates may not be the best. you might want to wait til the story opens up more and maybe find a stronger or more attached template. there are lot's of things in The Kingdom of Night that goes beyond vampires and humans. You'll find it to be a vast city worthy of exploring thoroughly.

When the blood runs dry, they turn the slaves into soylent green. The vampires don't have any use for anything that isn't blood.

I'm interested in getting into a 3.5 PbP game, and maybe I'll try this since it's open. Not sure which side I'll choose; I usually just like to play a power-hungry wizard and I'll probably go with that here so I can get the hang of PbP gaming.

A perfect fit. I like to dm arcane characters because it makes for a challenge. As for power hungry. You'll prolly have a great time dealing with the aristocracy.

As for them running dry, the vampires take decent care of them and rotate "crop" to make sure there is always enough

So am I understanding you correctly that our PCs are (or at least may) come from alternate worlds? So a Karnathi Boneknight or similar characters are acceptable background? Interesting.

And while I'm suddenly struck by the amusing thought of an athasian halfling as a character, I'm now leaning towards a swordsage if that's okay. Maybe. Too many cool options. :D

basically yes. try to lean towards a material plane, but other planes of existence are acceptable. You'll find out why people end up here, but no one seems to leave.

Hm... how do you determine starting wealth? Or is the masterwork weapon/armor the entirety of our starting gear? Just double-checking.
