Round 6

Illvilious swings his staff at the enlarged dwarf but he bats the attack away with his shield leaving himself open for the follow up kick. The fight clearly takes all his focus though as the stil hidden dwarf manages to evade him. Duran reaches out his huge paws and batters Nariah's would be assailant to the ground, giving the warlock a chance at retreating. It proves a costly move as another duargar swings his giant ax at her landing a heavy blow that turns her retreat into a flight. She recovers quickly enough and sends a deadly bolt of fey energy at her attackers. Erol lands a solid hit from his crossbow. JV tries to attack the dwarf that came from the south but is too busy fending off the attacks from their leader. Horgar swings with the speed of a striking serpent but can't seem to land anything on the half elf. It proves a deadly distraction though, as the sentry lands a horrific blow on JV.

One of the Duargar says in dwarvish, "These aren't wandering country folk, we're outmatched!". Even those who can't understand them can tell their confidence is knocked and their heart is no longer in this fight.

“Keep it up!” Errol called. “They weren’t expecting such resistance!”

In Dwarvish, he yelled to the duergar leader, “Let us go and we will spare you and your fellow dwarves.”

Eroll put in another bolt and fired his crossbow at the remaining duergar facing off against JV.

Reszor was commissioned by a soldier turned assassin to enhance his ability to kill without being detected. It has a star motif etched into the blade and the handle is of blue leather. Dried blood clings to the blade and cannot be cleaned off. The weapon counts as magical and when you make an attack against on opponent while hidden the attack will make no noise. Additionally, when you make an attack with this weapon and get to use bonus damage dice, such as superiority dice or sneak attack dice, roll an additional die and discard the lowest. When you say the command word "Reszor" the blade will glow with dim light out to a 5ft radius, saying the command word again will turn the light off. Finally there is a mild curse on the blade that drives the wielder to kill. After rendering an opponent incapacitated or unconscious make a DC7 WIS saving throw to stop yourself from killing the creature.

J.V.'s eyes glow red from the powerful blow and in abyssal a strange voice screams, "BURN!" flames engulf the assailant from below as J.V. swings from up high.

OOC: hellish rebuke: DC 14 DeX save or take [roll0] fire dmg. Greenflame blade hit [roll1] for [roll2] dmg.
 


Round 7

There is a yelp and a curse from J.V's attacker as he pats out the flames, then "Aye, we yield." says Horgar in dwarvish. All the duegar take a defensive pose as they wait to see if Errol's offer is real. "Their gold ain't tha' shiny we're ready ta die." he adds, "If the cult catches us now we're done for, wha'ever way you go we'll go t'other, an' tha'll be the end o' tha'"

After a pause, he shouts, "Thorgul? Ya' best be getting our stuff out tha room, we won't be goin' back there. We'll meet ya at the bend in tha stream." There is a reply from out of the darkness, then foot steps can be heard fading.

OOC: Yeah I don't seem to be getting notifications for this thread either - I'm getting all the others.

Anyway, I've not done a full combat post, but if you want to carry on and finish the durgar off I'll update round 7 to show.
 

[Ooctag​]I don't think we have the time for any more fighting, Hellenrae is fast and she's getting backup. The prisoners will be slow, we need to haul ass![/OOC]

"Let's get out of here then," Ilvellios gestured for the freed prisoners to get moving. While waiting for them to catch up, he searched the bodies of the nearest duergar, carefully facing towards Horgar as he did so and casting frequent glances towards him.

“Fair enough,” Errol said. He kept the crossbow loaded and aimed, but didn’t fire. “We’ve no quarrel with anyone but those that would keep these goodly folk from returning to their families.” He took a moment to glance to the others. “Head up the canyon. Fast as they can. Let’s put as much distance between us and the monastery as we can. They won’t make it up the way we came in.”

Slowly Errol backed away, keeping his bolt trained on the duergar as they retreated.
