"What do you say, Tor? That certainly sounds like a noble cause. At least we should hear what Master Nurlan, and the friends he is waiting for, have to say."

Ashnar invites Nurlan over to their table, and introduces him to Lady Persephone, Rinaldo, and Tor.

Somac's ears perk up when he hears the dark stranger sing. The song, thogh not the best he's heard, is soothing to his troubled spirit.

The barbarian becomes even more interested when he hears what the stranger says.

Goblins? Danger? Correcting an injustice? he thinks to himself. This is just the kind of thing I've been waiting for.

Somac walks over to where the new patron is and quietly waits to hear more about the offer.

Accepting Ashnar's invitation, Nurlan greets the other adventurers at his table.

"Ah, I see you already have a bottle of wine. May I have a glass? Let us all drink a toast... to the Red Dragon Inn, and the friendships formed over its libations, may they last a lifetime!"

Then he sees the towering barbarian following him. Offering his hand to Somac, he says, Good sir, who might you be?

Shaking Nurlan's hand (this is new for Somac) the barbarian replies, I am Somac of the North. I was recently forced to leave the land of my clan, by the treachery of one of our own in league with orcs. I have come here because it is now time for me to make a name and place for myselt, and I here this is a place to find adventure."

"If I can kill goblins, protect the innocent, and correct an injustice, all in one quest, I would leap at the chance, even if there was no treasure involved"
With a rare wink, the barbarian continues, "Of course, I wouldn't leave it behind either."

Persephone

"Yes. This sounds very interesting. Just the sort of thing that comes along in this particular place. Tell us more, good sir, Nurlan. And do have a drink. Let us enjoy ourselves here before we venture forth into danger, the unknown and possibly death."

Tor greets the new arivals with good humor and anticipation, very much hoping for a chance at adventure.

"Greetings, one and all. I for one would be happy to help you on your quest."

Nurlan smiles at the young woman, and begins his story. "About a week ago I went with three friends -- we met in this very tavern, at the next table over from here -- to Monemvassia, where we heard some goblins of the Jebli tribe were terrorizing the good folk, and where the king was paying good many for goblin ears. Our mission was quickly sidetracked.. say, Mister Somac, wouldn't you like to take a seat with us?" Nurlan interrupts himself.

"Thank you," replies Somac as he pulls up a chair and lowers his considerable frame onto it. He nods at each of the individuals sitting around the table.

Turning back to Nurlan, he says, "Please...tell us more."

Persephone

Persephone gasps. "Monemvassia? You've been there? The land is being terrorized by goblins! This is grave news indeed. Please go on!"

Nurlan turns back toward the woman. "I take it you have some acquaintance with that city? I would love to hear what you know of it. Yes, Monemvassia is dealing with a goblin menace. The evil little sneaks even went so far as to steal some silver from the royal treasury; that may be why the king offered a bounty for their ears. But whether they are the worst of the city's problems I am not sure. Another menace may be the Thieves' Guild, a rather powerful organization from what I can tell. Still another may be the justice system, perverted by caprice and corruption. The Sword of Justice, I am told, no longer functions as it once did. Perhaps you know of this fabled Sword of Justice? He pauses for another sip of wine.
