[Tavern Thread] The Dunn Wright Inn

Thuvian Darklight (shadow wizard 1, work in progress)

OOC: stats coming later today. What did we decide on traits for the skills that don't have official class skill traits?

A heavily cloaked tiefling wanders in to the common room, and only opens up slightly when he sees Marla, quietly ordering a quick snack and drink before finding a table in the corner to sit down at. Even after he removes his cloak, little can be discerned about him beyond the fact that he likes midnight blue. Aside from his simple travel clothes, all that can be seen are a few basic weapons.

Continuing his whirlwind shuffling of the cards, the gnome giggles slightly at Arianna's question. " 'Weave time'? No, my dear, I keep my hands off of time; it simply allows me look in on it, although I've been having some trouble in doing so as of late, not all of which is due to my own limitations, you see, which is why you all have been coming here." Reaching the end of that rather lengthy and winding thought, the gnome stops shuffling suddenly, flipping over the top card. The image on it is a shadowy haze, and as the halfling and the merwoman watch, it begins to shift before their eyes. Though they can discern little, they do see a brief flash of what looks like the outside of the Dunn Wright Inn. "Ahh!" the gnome exclaims, "The third has arrived." Giving a slight bow to the women, he says, "You'll excuse me for a moment, my dears."

Opening the door, the gnome circles back around the still-sleeping half-orc (the pile of drool substantially larger now), and makes his way through the tavern over to the corner where the tiefling is just finishing his snack. "Finally! I was beginning to worry about yourself. Truth be told, you're the one I was particularly looking forward to - got to have some brains for the trip, I always say. Come, come, come..." he trails off, taking the tiefling's hand in an effort to lead him to the back room.

The tiefling looks at the hyeractive gnome with an annoyed look on his face as he clearly has no intention of following this strange gnome anywhere. "If you are going to interrupt my lunch, you could at least introduce yourself and state your business properly. As for whatever trip you are referring to, I have no idea what you are talking about."

The gnome withdraws his hand to tap the side of his head, as if remembering something. "Ahh, yes, the grumpy one - I remember now. It's hard to not get you all confused until I've actually met you. Except for the merwoman's anatomy, of course - it's easy enough to remember that you and the others are without tails. Anyways, what was I to say...?" Clearing his throat, the gnome draws himself up, and his demeanor changes from eccentric and scatter-brained to one of solidity and clear control; the abruptness of the shift is somewhat startling. As he speaks, in a strong, strident voice distinct from his casual one, the candle on the tiefling's table begins to flicker, first slightly, then increasingly erratically. "I am the gnome whose name will not be uttered, from origins beyond the world's remembrance. I am here to seek aid in discerning the identity of those who have wronged me, and in the retrieval of a most precious artifact I have long held in my possession. Fate has suggested to me that you are one of those few who possess the ability to assist me in this task. Should you agree, both knowledge and material wealth will be yours, in equal measure." As he stops speaking, the candle resumes its normal activity. Sighing heavily, assuming his former posture, he adds, in the softer, quicker voice he normally speaks in, gesturing to the back room he emerged from, "Now - shall we go? I have food in the back."

Thuvian listened with his usual frustrations he had with those who believed in the illusion of finding something, though as usual, he bit his tongue and said nothing. "I will consider your offer, good sir, but Nora dislikes strangers even more than I do, and an angry viper is not something to take lightly, so I will eat out here, and possibly join you afterward once Nora has had a chance to fill her stomach." At the mention of her name, a small snake head pokes out of the backpack now sitting by the wall.

At the tiefling's response, the gnome gives the man a queer look, stemming at least in part from annoyance. "Fine," he says simply, and he begins to make his way back to the room where the others have gathered.

When Marla brings over his order, Thuvian sets the plate down on the floor where Nora can have more privacy while eating her meal. As the viper eats, he sits sipping on the drink, appearing to watch the room, but in reality he is simply staring off into space while Nora eats. The only one he watches with even a remote sense of interest is Marla, curious if her experiences were similar to his own when dealing with other races.

[sblock=ooc]I just need to wrap up spells and and equipment, and Thuvian should be ready for inspection. To do that, I need to get home where my notes from last night are, but it shouldn't be more than 3 or 4 hours before he's ready to go.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Sounds good. We're still waiting on a 4th player to materialize, anyway (although it sounded like HolyMan was going to draw one up). Plus, it needs to be confirmed that Satin Knights can use his Synthesist. So no rush on your end.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]As far as I know, validating synthesists needs to be accomplished before I level or the adventure ends and I get XP. So, it doesn't need to be a blocker for the adventure. With the Paizo faq clarifications on healing and armor, the only real question left is if fused eidolon==eidolon for feat qualifications. I have already made my case with the "for all other abilities, functions as". And with all the whining on the Paizo board that the archetype is underpowered vs a regular summoner, it should be sorted out soon.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Good to know; I wasn't sure if playing an unapproved archetype meant we needed to wait. Guess that just means we need our fourth PC, then we're ready to roll.[/sblock]
