[sblock=Upcoming Adventure: The Second Day of Mourning] Hey all! I just got my new adventure fully accepted so I'm trying to figure out who all is currently in the tavern. This adventure is kinda long, so if you don't want to have a character tied down for a good long while, don't participate. One thing I CAN tell you though, is that you'll enter this adventure at level 4 and exit at level 6 (I will be allowing level ups in the middle of the adventure). If you're interested, please PM me and have your character ready inside of the tavern. See you all soon!! [/sblock]

A grizzled, somewhat sour looking dwarf enters the tavern. From his expression, one would guess he had just accidentally stepped in large pile of dung. He is tall, for a dwarf, and very stocky (also for a dwarf). He is dressed in hide armor, and a warhammer and two handaxes are hanging from his belt.

Stepping up to the bar, he gives a quick look around the room. "Looks like a tough lot in here today, eh barkeep?" The bartender does not answer. The dwarf unceremoniously slams a gold piece onto the countertop. "What do you have that'll make me forget?" The bartender again does not answer, but prepares a drink. The dwarf chuckles, a grin spreading spreading on his face. "You're smart not to answer. There's nothing you can pull for me that'll make me forget. Not for long, anyways."

"Names Gurdan Earthshield, by the way," he says, loud enough for most in the bar to hear. "And I'm looking for work - just so long as it ain't no god-forsaken war."

Gurdan's specialty is taking punishment. Lots and lots of punishment. Looking forward to seeing how much he can take. :)

Here's his sheet if you are curious.

As the newcomer is ordering his drink Grryth gives him a quick once over. As he does with all obvious war veterns, Grryth tried to think back and remember if he had ever fought against him. Hmm, don't recall that fighting that one. Looks like a tough sonova rock anyway. Would probably remember that one....he looks...memerable.

[sblock=OOC Roll Call]

Grryth, Longtooth Shifter, vetern of the last war reporting for duty! (Tempest Fighter, multiclassed Ranger. And yes, I am aware of the errata to the tempest, and I actaully like it better - more defenderish)

The Dawn of the Second Day of Mourning

A long slow creaking sound alerts everyone to the fact that, once again, the front door of the Tower's Shard was opening. In the entrance stood a female dwarf. She glitters her way through the entrance and into the middle of the bar, clad in a white fur coat and bedecked in all manner of gold and silver jewelry.

"Th' name be Gurdis Gleamstone, and I be look'n' fer a group'a ya fer a job. Any what're wantin' one should comen' see me in th'room o'er there." She motions to an empty room with six chairs arranged around a simple wooden table.

So far I have had three people express interest in playing in this adventure:

* Otakkun, playing as Garrick d'Orien, a human "melee" feylock. (Striker)
* HornedTurtle, playing as Lord Jarot, a ranged feylock (Striker)
* TwoHeadsBarking, playing as Alexia Madearu, a Human Dhampyr Bard (Leader)

If you are interested in joining, warp ahead to the Second Day of Mourning!

I sent you a pm this morning (or attempted to at least) expressing Grryths interest.
As mentioned, Grryth is not approved yet, so if you do not want him along just let me know and he will continue to sit and attempt to rub the soreness of the road out of his feet a while longer.

[sblock=OOC DMDanW] Huh... strange, I didn't see a PM from you... No matter. I don't mind if you're not approved, I'm sure you'll get approved before I award any XP. They seem to be really on it here in LEB land ^_^ (THANKS JUDGES). Go post something in my adventure thread and welcome aboard! [/sblock]

Taking a quick tally of the weight of his coin satchel, Grryth decides that he had best not let an opportunity to make some money slip away.
Slipping his well worn boots back on his feet and taking one last bite of his meal Grryth stands and gathers his gear. He grabs his mug of ale in the other hand and makes his way into the back room the Dwarf had entered.

"Well, looks like that's my cue, barkeep!" Gurdan says, quickly downing his drink. He follows the shifter into the other room, eyeing him up and down as he does so. Huh - looks like I won't be the only muscle, he thinks, with a mixture of admiration and suspicion.
