It wasn't that bad, but he makes it sound like it was really awful.

He's not a veru good reviewer if he can't set aside his perosnal tastes when reviewing.

WHAT? Whose tastes are a reviewer supposed to employ?

edit: That's a bit snarky on my part, but I agree with the posters below who suggest you post your own review - that reflect your own personal tastes.

Um...aren't all reviews just a reflection of personal taste?

Pretty much. If someone dislikes something I've written I try and read the review carefully to learn from it -- I sometimes find that I get more value out of a 2 star review than I do a 5 star review.

hmmm. A book that has no use in his game, and he explains why thoroughly. You seem to have liked the product more than he has, so why don't you write your own review and tell us why you did, in fact, like it?

I've noticed in many cases, TB's reviews read like a person with bi-polar depression. He either really likes it or dislikes it. Very little middle ground.

hehe... I am extremely wary of 5 star (or the equivalent) reviews.

Nobody is perfect (me least of all), and thus the corollary is that no product is perfect (especially mine :D).

And as has been pointed out, reviews are often a reflection of the views and tastes of the author of the review. This is a perfect reason why having multiple reviews is always a good thing. You then get several different viewpoints, and each is quite likely to emphasize different aspects of the product, and also just as likely to hit upon many of the same flaws.

Personal tastes are (for me) part of what make reviews interesting to read.

If a reviewer thinks something is awesome or lame, I want them to tell me so, and tell me why. TB does this in his review. No problem here.

Now, if a reviewer consistently pans the things that I like, then I know that I won't benefit from reading the opinions of that reviewer - so I don't.

If you are going to review a reviewer do it, do not throw out comments without documents and noted examples, why, what and how are needed.
