Open Call for Writers and Artists!
Khan's Press is announcing an Open Call for writers and artists for the upcoming April issue of their quarterly magazine, the Tempest!
We are looking for writers and artists to contribute to the following articles:
-Spells of Air. Creativity a must - these won't be run-of-the-mill spells! Spells should be written in concordance to the 3.5 rules.
-Havoc Feats. Feats geared towards raising a little mayhem in the game. Trickster feats, chaos feats, killer combat feats - you name it! Feats should be written in concordance to the 3.5 rules.
-Fang, Fury, and Fear will include a selection of new monsters that are the result of a wizard's experiments gone wrong. Monsters should be written in concordance to the 3.5 rules.
-Sir Reginald Halfbottom's Chop Shoppe is a new running article that will detail modified weapons and alternate weapon use. Weapon modifications will be more than just simple modifications - they will redefine the weapon! Weapons should be written in concordance to the 3.5 rules.
-ElfClash Freebies will include free information on ElfClash and it's world. If you have picked up the book, feel free to submit new spells, feats, and other supplemental material for the article!
All submissions will be read, and those accepted will be notified by email (be sure to include this in your submissions!). Those that submit items to the magazine will be credited for their submissions, as well as given a complimentary copy of the issue. Should someone submit a short fiction story, entire articles of more than 1,000 words, or otherwise contribute to the magazine (with art, etc), he or she will be entitled to a percentage of royalties from the issue (based on amount of work submitted).
Submissions are due by Monday, March 15, 2004. Late submissions will not be accepted, though may be re-submitted for the next issue. Purchase of Tempest, Issue 1 is not required, but it would be helpful to see how the magazine is structured.
Submissions for writing should be emailed to Maggie McCall at mpitgroup@yahoo.com. Please put "Tempest Writer Submission" in the subject line and indicate which article you are submitting for. Attachments not accepted (put the submission into the body of the email, please), except with longer submissions (in which case, please send me a query email with your proposal and you wil be told how to submit from there).
Artwork submissions should be directed to Sean Murray at kaledor@yahoo.com. Please send a query email with your proposal prior to sending files or a link to an online portfolio. If your proposal or portfolio is accepted, you will be contacted. Please put "Tempest Artist Submission" in the subject line and indicate which article you would like to illustrate for. Black and White OR Color work is accepted.
Thank you all very much, and happy submitting!
