temple prostitution

Don't forget about the temple wizard who can, for a fee, polymorph a priestess to match the specifications you want(Using his Craft: Body skill, of course).
Interesting, but then I see problems with this. If a temple is known to empoly such then won't at least rumors start that all the sex priestesses are ugly and/or other races? I think this would be potentially a bad move.

Edit : Stupid typo.

Mark, thanks :p

Hopefully later today I'll post the rundown of the Cult of the Goddess in Book of the Righteous format. Anyone interested in seeing what I'm trying to do with this?

Yup. Drop me an email with the link when it is posted, please. :)

I would love to agree with you, but I doubt the clientell would care, really. In some cities, it might, but it wouldn't. I guess it would be up to the DM.

Edit: I'm responding to Dragongirl's post.

Hey, nobody complains that plastic surgery victims might once have been ugly/flat...

I mean, if people were that concerned with reality, they wouldn't bother going to prostitutes and convincing themselves that the girls aren't "just in it for the money".

"She finds me attractive, she really does!!! Listen to the noises she's making!!!"

Prostitute: I'd like to thank the academy for this Oscar...

:D I guess you are right, I tend to give . . . people, more credit than I should. If you are going to pay for it, maybe it doesn't matter if it is a goblin in disguise, as long as you don't KNOW it is. Look at the male prostitutes that dress up as female in the real world . . . some of their johns HAVE to know. :p

Though I still think that the temple may wish to keep it underwraps, just so they don't scare off those few who would care.

Hmmm... on second thought, I think illusion spells might be even more common. Combined with some mind-muddling spells, they could easily convince people they were making love to a beautiful woman.

This thread has reminded me of a book a friend of mine once shoved under my nose with the words, "This is awwwwsome!" accompanying it. It wasn't.

Nevertheless it had some interesting concepts in it; demon powered cars, extra-planer/world travel via corridors of the dead, and a Queen who got her magical powers through orgasm.

She sat on a sword hilt as a way of introducing herself to the protagonist... Cenotaph Road the series is called. Interesting but not a great read. Get it for the concepts rather than the story, which is why I'm mentioning it here.

That was my thought... you would have some people who were prudish and would want to be absolutely positive that they weren't making love to a goblin, but the vast majority probably wouldn't care. And as for giving people too much credit, look at the demographic that's going to be patronizing these sort of establishments.

Ohmygod.

I'm gonna puke...

Dude, this romantic metaphor for sexual intercourse has no business in a thread on prostitution.
