Testament from Green Ronin!!!

The book is outstanding. There IS a good bit on Egypt, Fenes.

It's a must have for many reasons, mass combat, the regional flavor. It's got it all.

If only it would have come out 2 years ago... I have been running this campaign for 2 years now, and cobbled together my own regional sourcebook using 2E "Old Empires", 3E FRCS, National Geographic issues, GEO issues, Web-based history sites and my own imagination.

I just hope Testament offers more than the egypt-sourcebook from Avalanche, which was not bad in itself, but did not offer anything I had not already gathered from National Georgraphic ins history sources (I don't use their classes).

50 new feats

100 new spells, including some sex/fertility magic, new curses, etc.

Something like a dozen new core classes and PrCs (Idol-Maker, Spy, Qedeshot (temple "prostitute" suitable for clerics of FR's Sharess and Loviatar)
Normally a book that advertises new feats, PrCs and/or spells makes me yawn. I've no interest in cluttering up the system with extraneous and unneeded rules. Just my preference.

I picked up Testament and have say that they got it exactly correct. Feats and spells that truly further the feel of the setting. The feats, spells and PrCs do a very good job of capturing an old testament campaign feel.

Ysgarran.

Well, I'd guess that based on the enthusiasm and surprise of the messages in this thread that it came out just the other day. Not that it matters much, since game materials don't have the same expiration date limitations as a carton of milk. It should still be exciting and new for quite a while.

Came out on Wednesday over here (England) I am dubious about getting it though. Im not a big fan of all things holy, although playing in InNomine rocks go figure. Any InNomine varients for D20 out there that people know about?

Wow.

I was really skeptical about this as a concept, but it sounds like (and I do stress sounds because I haven't looked at the book) that GR may have pulled it off.

"...proof again that NOBODY (and I mean not even WotC) does a setting book or D20 rules better than Green Ronin."

To which I can heartily add my agreement.

The new monsters are also great, from the new angels (cherubim, malachim, mazzalim, and seraphim) to demons and devils (Azazel, possessor, tempter, and ruination), sin dragons, the nephilim (usually CE offspring of angels and men) and half-nephilim template, Babylonian demons (lamashtu, imhullu) scorpion guards, bull of heaven, akilem (demon locusts), zebub-spawn (demonic flies from the flesh of Zebub, aka Baal-Zebub) and several new Egyptian monsters (phoenix, Apep-spawn snakes, and accursed ka-spirit).

If you have GR's Avatar's Handbook - how is this Malakhim different from the one in there? Or is it the same one? And no sirrush in the monsters... grr... well, more for me to convert, lol.

And you're right on with the Ronin praise. I'm a GR junkie, I admit it.

The malakim in Testament are actually quite different than those in the Avatar's Handbook. The Testament malakim comprise the bulk of angels, being messengers and warriors for Heaven. They appear as perfectly formed humans with wings and armor. Of basically the same power as the Avatar malakim, but have some important differences: healing fire, voice a note of the celestial chorus (does damage to sinners= neutral or evil align), radiance of heaven (light + minor globe of invuln + 1d6 dmg per round to undead or demons), rebuke demons, ability to bestow dreams, and fear.
