The 3rd Kryptonian? Possible Spoliers

Actually my hope is that she is not a superhero and thus has no nom de guerre at all. Alot will depends on her backstory, but if she has been on Earth roughly as long as Superman she must have chosen not to become a hero or a villain thus just because she is 'outed' doesn't mean she should now jump into tights.

I would like to see DC deal with the issue of power and responcibility from the non-interfearance side of things. Maybe here is a woman who actually beleives that as an alien she has no right to interfear with humanity beyond the minimal impact of a private person.

I doubt thats what they are going to do, but it would be more interesting than "we need a superhero with this name!"

A rival for the affections of the new Question, perhaps?
Gah.

No, please.

I have nothing against Batwoman and Renee getting in the sack together, but I SO want Vic Sage to be the Question again... Renee with a codename and a mask seems wrong on all levels.

Call me a cynic, but...

...I personally suspect all these new versions of older *lame* characters is just about copyright protection within DC. Publish a few titles with these losers every ten years or whatever, and you ensure that it does not enter public domain.

Although, who the heck would really want "Superwoman"? Yecch. It sounds awful.

I figured Mon-el / Valor even though he isn't technically a Kryptionian. His initial run was as Clark's amnesia stricken "cousin" -- If memory serves.

I doubt it considering that current copyright laws gives DC a 80 year hold on the copyright after the character's original creator dies, and according to Wikipedia, the original creator of Kristin Wells version of Superwoman is still alive. Course, the whole issue of the "Superwoman" name is a different considering that its trademarked and the original character was created in the 40s.

A phantom zone imprisoned Mon-El has appeared recently in Superman books, as has a future counterpart in Legion. It has been established that the Daxamites are lost colonist of Krypton but given his recent apperances and that difference in origin its not going to be him. Besides, we know its going to be a woman.

Your memory, however, is almost correct. Clark initally beleived Mon-El to be his brother in old Silver Age continuity; and IIRC even in the revised current New Earth continuity.

Funny, my only memory of Superwoman was the Alan Moore imaginary tale "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" which was an "end of the Silver Age" goodbye tale.

Anyhow, with 52 Earths the easiest thing to do would be to move some "surplus" heroes to a relatively low-hero world like Earth-3 (Crime Society), Earth-10 (Nazis), or the Anti-Matter Earth (Crime Syndicate). As an alternative to killing them off, only to resurrect/reinvent them yet again.

Heck, I think that the JSA storyline with Superman from Earth-22 (Kingdom Come) will end up with him and Power Girl going to Earth 2 to replace the apparently missing, presumed dead, Superman and Power Girl of that Earth.

And that would leave the name Power Girl (Power Woman?) open for Supergirl if she wishes to change her name.

Hey, I am wondering if we will see Gleep the Supermonkey, Windy the Superhorse, and Streaky the Supercat. We have Krypto, but that is about it.
