If memory is correct... Doomsday was orginally a kryptian but heavily bio-engeered. Or was it kryptonian sciencetists that did the dirty deed...? I forget now.

If female and NOT related to him.....does this mean there will be a non-lois involved hook-up?

Funny, my only memory of Superwoman was the Alan Moore imaginary tale "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" which was an "end of the Silver Age" goodbye tale.

Anyhow, with 52 Earths the easiest thing to do would be to move some "surplus" heroes to a relatively low-hero world like Earth-3 (Crime Society), Earth-10 (Nazis), or the Anti-Matter Earth (Crime Syndicate). As an alternative to killing them off, only to resurrect/reinvent them yet again.

Heck, I think that the JSA storyline with Superman from Earth-22 (Kingdom Come) will end up with him and Power Girl going to Earth 2 to replace the apparently missing, presumed dead, Superman and Power Girl of that Earth.

And that would leave the name Power Girl (Power Woman?) open for Supergirl if she wishes to change her name.

Hey, I am wondering if we will see Gleep the Supermonkey, Windy the Superhorse, and Streaky the Supercat. We have Krypto, but that is about it.
Power Girl is from Earth-2.

The Superwoman I remember was a non-Kryptonian in a one-shot that was used to test the waters for the Supergirl character. (Circa 1958-9.) But there have been others. :D

We got a new Batwoman, so why not a new Superwoman?

Because I'm rabidly opposed to directly derivative characters like Batwoman to begin with?

I sincerely hope not because, one, I like Power Girl and would rather see her stay right where she is and, two, I hate Supergirl with the power of a 1,000 burning red suns and would rather she just went away.

I'd really like Batwoman if it were Barbara Gordon with her legs back.

As for Supergirl, she isn't nearly as annoying when she is written by people with actual talent. Her team-up with Green Lantern and Lobo in Brave & The Bold and her time in the Legion of Superheroes (once she got past the "you're all a dream" phase) was really good. It's no coincidence they were all written by Mark Waid.

Wellllll yes and no.

The Power Girl that is the chair of New Earth (the current main Earth)'s JSA is from the Earth-2 of the *old* Multiverse, but now there is a *new* Multiverse, with a *new* Earth-2, and a *new* (missing and presumed murdered by that Earth's Luthor) Power Girl. Thus JSA of New Earth Power Girl might replace the Power Girl of *new* Multiverse Earth-2.

Damn, I know too much about this stuff! :)

First time I hear about this "presumed murdered". What I gathered from 52 is that Earth-2's Power Girl and Superman were missing because Power Girl was on New Earth and Superman was *buried* in New Earth.

Beepo was the name of the Supermonkey in the comics, and was actually an experemental animal that Jor-El used to test his rocket tech in the Silver Age. Comet was the name of the Superhorse who was not IIRC Kryptnian. Both have gotten Post-CoIE but Pre-IC versions unrelated to their originals. I think we have even seen Streaky as Supergirl and Wonder Girl's cat recently, w/o powers.

Legion of Super-Pets:

Beppo stowed away in Kal-El's rocketship.
Krypto was shot into space in a prototype of the rocketship (nice going, Jor-El, using you son's pet as a test animal).
Streaky was a regular cat who got Kryptonian powers from a failed attempt by Supergirl to find a way to neutralize kryptonite.
Comet was an Ancient Greek centaur that Circe tried to turn human but turned fully into a horse instead. He later gained superpowers, but only if a comet was crossing the star system he was in. He also gained the ability to turn into a human, and Supergirl fell in love with his human form  .
And of course, there was Proty, the Super-protoplasm.
